Finally started on my roof rack! It's full-length so I've got plenty of real estate up there for whatever I need. Loaded up the tractor and went bush hogging today, trying to get everything ready before rifle season opens up. Killed a rattlesnake, but my wife decided that it wouldn't be on the menu
@Michael
No I've still got to build the sliders and the roof rack. But we'very been real busy at the shop so I haven't had time to pull it in and start on it. I built the ones on the Tahoe and was quite happy with them, I could take the Hi-lift and pick the whole side up by the sliders.
2001 2500 Suburban
I need something that will haul more than 5 people.
Also started selling firewood in the winter and the Tahoe wasn't quite happy pulling that kind of weight.
Those two criteria narrow down your choices dramatically, pretty much to the Suburban or Excursion. Since I was...

@Michael OB It's a Penton. It uses 5w instead of 3w leds so the light output is around 5,000 lumens. Haven't really gotten to use them yet but so far...
Mounted and wired up a set of 11" single row led light bars on the hood of the Suburban today. Seem to pretty bright but I haven't been able to test them at night yet.
I got kinda forced into building them when I first started because nobody built one for a Tahoe that I liked not to mention I couldn't afford a pre-built bumper anyway!
8.8 is like a grade 5, and 10.9 is a grade 8. It's just the metric way of marking them. I've had 5 lugs on my Ford F-150, 6 lugs on the Tahoe, and now 8 lugs on the Suburban. I think 5 is enough for a F-150 the most they ever put on those was 7 and they aren't very easy to find parts for.

Thanks! I got them from a company called Paracord Nation they make all kinds of handles, mainly for Jeeps but these are a universal set that they sell and they only cost around 30 dollars no matter how long you buy them.

Got some pictures of the rear bumper today. Mounted and wired in the charging dock for my Streamlight, and mounted the paracord grab handles in the Suburban.

Finally got some pictures of the rear bumper today. Also got the charging dock for my Streamlight mounted and wired up. And mounted the paracord grab handles so that the vertically challenged ones will have an easier time getting in.

I miss my snorkel:-(

Maybe after I'm done being tired of working on the Suburban I'll start figuring something out like I did for the Tahoe.

Changed the oil, filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires on the Suburban today. Also got the bumpers mounted up. Should be getting to drive it home tomorrow after it's been sitting there for two weeks.

Changed the oil, filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires on the Suburban today. Went with NGK plugs and MSN wires on took about 45 minutes to change all 8 of them, I was pleasantly surprised to see dielectric grease and anti-seize on the old plugs too. Also got the bumpers mounted up...
Replaced a leaky heater hose tee on the Suburban today. The previous owner had bypassed the heater core altogether when the tee started leaking in the middle of nowhere. Drained radiator and added fresh coolant, heater works extremely well. Finished the front bumper today too, it's all clean and...
