    Ford Ranger Gen 3 Rigs

I just put the Rough Country 5” suspension on my 2005. It rides better than stock. I have a locker to install when the weather gets better. I’m a fair weather DYIer. I put 33” Cooper Discover ATs on 17” wheels. I have taken my truck on some pretty tough trails with just a 3” lift and 265/70/16s...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I have accumulated parts over the last 6 months. My issue is time to install them. I have new shocks a posi rear and a new fancy stereo. A new leather interior is on the way also. The leather keeps the dog fur from sticking to the seats.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I just received my Lockright locker for my rear. I’ll put it in in couple weeks. Next on the list is a rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier. My truck is almost complete, I think I only have 20 more things I want to do to it.

    Portable Grill Recommendations

I use a Skottle. Easy to store, set and cook on. Have not found anything you can’t make on it. This picture is chicken fajitas on the deck. It has a carriage case for the cooking disk and one for the legs. Clean up is a breeze also.

WHY did you choose YOUR rig?!

I chose a 2005 Ford Ranger because it was sitting in my driveway doing nothing. I’ve had it since 2007. I used it as a commuter for 2 years then my son drove it for six years for baseball and college, then it went to my daughter for a couple years. I wasn’t sure what to do with it. Then I came...

I have a 4Runner but it is not 4x4, how much can I do?

Off road magazine did a what is the difference between a 2wd and a 4wd and it turned out to be a 1/4 mile. The 4wd went a 1/4 mile farther up the mountain before it was stuck.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I hear you, I won’t get started, it’s the same everywhere. I live live in a what used to be a rual place and the city has expanded down here. Our shops charge an average of 120.00 an hour and pay the mechanics 25 + an hour otherwise they wouldn’t have any.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Around here 35.00 is cheap. It’s been along time since we could get a tire done for 17.00.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I have a 4wd shop around the corner from my house. OCD Offroad in Stafford VA. They mount and balance big tires with no problem. I think it was 35.00 per tire. They are a good honest shop.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I looked at those also. The Patagonia’s were 636.00 from Walmart.com. Walmart seems to have a lock on them and the cheapest price. Other places I checked were out of stock in that size.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I tested them out on Peters Mill Run which is about 100 miles from where I live. They rode nice on the interstate and didn’t skip a beat on the trail. It will be interesting to see how many miles I get out of them.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Installed a Wulf 3” lift set to 2.5” and a new set of 285/75/16 Patagonia mud terrains. I heard the Patagonias ran quiet on the pavement and to my surprise they do.

New person from Leesburg area VA

I’m new to the Overlanding but not camping and such. Get the AllTrails app. It’s awesome. I’m planning on doing the Big Levels to the Blue Ridge trail in April. I’m in Stafford Va so we are about the same distance from the run. It can be done in a long day or overnight we will be doing...
