We spent the day in Pisgah last weekend. There’s a trail called Yellow Gap Rd, but if I read the sign right, it’s closed till July 8th.
Just south of it, literally a few minutes, there’s Avery Creek Rd. I only saw camping spots on the southern end of it, but also signs were up saying no camping...
I’d have to read back up on it, and I know there’s been a lot of discussion on this site, but I believe the buddy heaters do not put off CO, could be wrong.
However that’s part of the reason for only use it before falling asleep or set an alarm. Precaution.
And yes they do create condensation
I use a buddy heater. Use it before going to bed to knock the chill off, and right when we wake up, to get ready.

I’m no connoisseur, but I enjoy most listed here ( buffalo trace, knob Creek, bulleit, makers, etc...)
But lately I’ve been on a Four Roses kick. Delicious and affordable.
I was going to recommend, or mention these as well. They seem to be the latest craze, and i've only read good things. I think Falken has a new(er) wild peak that is just the "AT" or maybe something else thats specifically designed for lighter weight vehicles (subaru/small suv/etc.) but i could...
The only "camping" with my three year old was just in the backyard. I guess its my way of easing him into actually going somewhere camping, and to test the waters / "shake down run". He's been sleeping in the tent in the back yard several times for the last year or so, so since he was two. The...
Slightly off topic,
What upgraded stakes would y’all suggest. Like mentioned, the Gazelle ones (and most included stakes, are garabage. Mine bent going into soft ground
