I took a trip to yosemite NP last week, in the first few days of the park's re-opening. The crowd was remarkably sparse for beginning of summer, uncanny even. Once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the park in this state. Felt very lucky, especially as an avid landscape and nature photographer...
went to Trona Pinnacles this past weekend. The heat is no joke - it was 95d through the night and the wind was whipping up like crazy. Managed to take a few landscapes and astro photos I'm happy with will be processing and posting these next few weeks, as well as put together my first IGTV post...
Looks great!
I've added the extra step of cutting open a big trash bag and tucking it behind the wheel, and over the calipers and rotors. Takes all about an extra 2 minutes per wheel. I know some would say that a little bit of overspray amounts to nothing, but the piece of mind is worth it in...
my daily driver is a chevy volt. gets 56 miles on electric so I plug it in when i get home. I put gas into it about once every two months. sure beats 12 miles a gallon!
Get up and out there! setup your tripod not far from your tent and you'll only be awake for a little bit. That's the purpose of the rig, right? To already be out to the prime spot (or at least as close as you can get)? If you get up and do it, you'll love it. If you don't, you'll regret it.
Sure thing!
I use a full frame Sony and all my astro starts at 16mm, f/2.8, 30 secs, ISO 3200, and shot in RAW. If I ever need to adjust the exposure of a scene the ISO is the only variable, the other factors are locked in. That makes life so much easier! I manual focus and have a 2 sec delay...
I frequent coastal Newport Beach a lot and do a lot of photography at the place called Crystal Cove which is a CA State Park. Being so close to the beach I’d be missing out if I didn’t do a lot of coastal photography. Not overlanding but a drive drive down PCH is beautiful most of the time. I’m...
for night photos (especially astrophotography) I've found that the lens makes a bigger impact than the camera. you need one that is wide (smaller mm) and fast (lower f stop). on a budget you can do a used sony a6000 ($250-ish used) and a sigma 16mm f1.4 ($450 new). the tripod you already have...
When I'm by myself I'll go out for photography and bring my truck with me, sometimes. Then I'll overland in my boots for a couple miles. I'm after that glade, that fell, that inversion, that milky way. How I get there is second to my destination. I've always gone solo - as I've not found...
Hey folks, new to these here forums and I’m a photography hobbyist by heart, primary nature & landscape but sometimes cityscapes being I’m in LA often sand it’s a wonderfully dynamic place to photograph. Anyways, I use a variety of equipment such as a Sony A7rIII, a6000, and a DJI Mavic Pro...
Hey there, my Instagram is mostly landscape and nature photos. Not many photos with my truck but they will occasionally make their way to the stories/b-roll. Stop by there and say HI!
