Our CDR trip got sidetracked this year due to medical issues. Made it to El Paso and had to turn back. Going to attempt it again this July. My route is the same as the yellow track shown above. Is the consensus its OK to use that track?
I rode the KAT a few years ago on a motorcycle and plan to do it soon in our jeep with wife and friends. Jeff does a good job of keeping things updated. Its one of the best trips I have been on but I'm a little bit prejudice since I'm from Ky. I've ridden the Majority of the TAT and the CDR and...
We use to go to Turkey Bay to off road our bikes and 4 wheelers. But you have to pay a fee to enter. If your camping just drive down the TRACE its in between the Lakes lots of places down there. If your looking for an inexpensive hotel try the Relax Inn near Kutawa. Nothing fancy but a good...
Were heading out on the CDR trip Monday July the 8th from Kentucky. If you see a Red TJ and a Yellow TJ Jeep along the way be sure to say Hi. Were starting west of El Paso and heading north. Wish us old retired people luck. We plan on keeping a log book of our trip to maybe help someone else if...
Its the bicycle trail that has been ran for years and now people are running it on motorcycles and 4x4's. Were going for the second time in a little less than a month in 4X4's
TOOLS I don't need no stinking tools. LOL
Actually carry multiple bags. I'm a tool whore and carry more than I probably should.
I try to prep my vehicles ahead of time so I don't have to work on them away from my shop. But that doesn't always work
I always buy quality tools for my shop but in...
Judge thanks for the reply. After posting this I found some other reviews and all were positive. Yes the Wavian can is the one I will get. Does it not come with a spout for pouring or are you recommending an alternative spout?
Thanks for replying.
A trip this summer is going to push our fuel range to at least 275 miles 2 different times and I'm looking for opinions on carrying a spare 5 gallons of fuel. There's 2 Jeep TJ's going on the trip both with stock rear bumpers and tire carriers and tires so an extra can on the carrier might be to...
Anticipating our CDR trip coming up. Looks like its going to be just 2 couples going though. A lot of jeep work going on from lift kits to axle seals and renewing most hoses.
A couple things Id like another opinion on. Were looking at one stretch of 275 miles between fuel stops. To be...
Really? You disagree. Well I guess I was a little more understanding than you. There was a Master at hiding caches probably 40 miles from my home. Had unbelievable caches and everyone waited in anticipation for him to unveil the next cache. A few months passed and his wife posted that he had...
Well I started Geocaching lets just say a long time ago. I had to do some traveling to find caches but managed to accumulate several in probably 15 states. Id take the wife and kids and id turn the kids loose with the GPS and follow along for the fun. My kids said dad you can hide things better...
I use to ride motorcycles in Turkey Bay. That was 30 years ago. I went back down there a few years ago and its not motorcycle friendly any more. Its all loose rocks. The 4 wheelers did a number on it.
You better be careful telling people you live within a mile of the KAT they will call you a Hillbilly. lol
Thank you for your service. Im west of Campbell.
Going Commando the KAT is one of the best kept secrets around. Jeff did a great job building it and maintaining the tracks for it. He has tracks for dual sport bikes and 4X4. The RED trails will test you. I've ran it twice on bikes and plan to try the 4X4 maybe this year. The word is getting out...
