There are charts that tell you how many ounces of beads you need to have per tire size. Add them and drive. I've used them many times with good results from car tires to 35s on personal vehicles and trailers. In the winter they can freeze together with the moisture in the tire. But will...
Then time for exhaust. 2 1/2" into 3" high flow cat and out. All mandrel bent.
Lots of cutting and fitting later and it was welding time.
I put v band clamps strategically to make removal easier.
Some engine wiring fun. I have a lot of systems to combine and verify wiring.
Removed a few..
Cleaning up the hvac box under the hood.
Cleaned and painted with trim black.
The cover for the auxiliary battery and wiring is done and fits decent.
Cleaning up lower and upper intake manifold.
Then it was time for some port matching. Opened up with 120 and 240 grit cone sanding bits on a die grinder.
A little material removed.
Then it was time for some...
Rear seats for the kids. If we like them I'll probably change the color in time.
Also have worked on getting door glass prepped to reinstall.
I will try to get some more up.
In Minnesota Blue Mounds State Park is decent. I'm sure there are more but most of my camping in MN is near Duluth.
South Dakota - east side of state Vermillion State Park, Palisades State Park, a lot of the small towns have city campgrounds.
West side of state - Badlands National Park and...
After getting it put together. I put some extra sound deadening material on the back side. Along with covering the opening I made to clear some things with a speaker covering fabric.
All cleaned painted and installed.
Had some time for more interior work. Got both rear panels trimmed to fit.
Now it was time to make some repairs. So I cut some leftover parts into strips and figured I'd play with homemade plastic welding
I used a hot air tip on a butane soldiering gun to melt the plastic together and...
Started trimming more of the interior panels to fit around the roll cage and other modifications.
The kick panel and A pillar parts took the longest so far.
2 more to fit on drivers side and then long cleanup and color match work. But closer every time I make it out to the garage.
Put some matte clear on the dash parts.
Also finished up the wiring behind the dash and got it put back in.
Lots more panels to trim to fit around the roll cage and other modifications.
Only small progress. Garage furnace gave up. So waiting for it's replacement to show up. But managed to finish up the firewall wiring behind the dash.
Ran the switch wiring and power and ground for the rear accessories through the firewall.
And bolted up one slider.
I seem to have...
I have taken a under hood fuse/relay box from a 1999 tahoe and rewired it to run the relays off the fuses and out. It has a main lug for power input and then used weatherpack connectors for the relay trigger wires and another for relay output. Works pretty good. I've also used blue sea fuse...
Nicely done. I got some other wiring done behind the dash this weekend as well. Unfortunately, doing a little furnace shopping the 50+ year old one in my garage final locked the blower motor up. Should be able to keep working on it some though not too crazy cold yet.
Did a little wiring on the upper switches in the front this weekend. I figured out the location and drilled some holes for the nutserts.
The bracket in place. I ran the wires from both sides up the A pillars.
Wiring up the premade switch assembly. It came prewired but I'm running relays...
I use black wire. Wrap in around the front cross beam in a spiral pattern. I just used black zip ties to secure it on each end. 60,000 miles of silence on the truck so far. And many more on others I've had. Simple and effective. I forget the technical term for it, but it stops the air...
