Well I finally decided to join up officially as a Member of Overland Bound. I figure even if I can't find a rig that really suits my fancy. I still have the drive to get out and go places I've never been before and see things I haven't seen yet.
HA! I always thought these might make a decent little offroader. But I'd be worried about finding parts for them (even basic suspension stuff if things were to break)
Well not Today, but yesterday with the nice Snow storm we had I went driving around on all the unplowed streets. Never been so impressed with a cars capability in 18 inches of snow. Even went through a 4 foot high bank left by the plows with no trouble at all.
As much as I love firebirds. I like First gen Camaros more (with the exception of a 69 T/A) second gens are all hideous to me, then firebird wins 3rd and 4th gen hands down.
Thanks Jake. I'm hoping to meet up with some local people and see what there is for trails in my area. Of course it did just snow so it looks like if I'm taking anything off-road it'll be the Forester. :) My Outback is running all seasons right now so I doubt it would fare too well.
Currently I've got 3 pairs of Merrells. 1 pair of the original Moab hiking boots. 1 pair of the Moab FST shoes and 1 of the FST boots
Then I've got my Keens that I wear for work not great for driving, but great for being on my feet 10 hours a day.
Ive loved reading all of these posts. Makes me so happy that I've got my Outback and that my plan to build a Subaru Baja will totally work for your average tracks.
Can I ask you guys a quick question though. How much ground clearance do you guys have on your Small trucks.
