Welcome bud from your neighbor in Wisconsin.
Ahh the good ole transverse x engine 2.8. I had her way back in the day that I beat the living tar out of and she kept comming back for more. I couldnt kill it. Even ran her dry on oil once( didn't know till i stopped to look) and she didn't lock...
When you get around to it, hell would like to see them. I was gonna do marker lights at first, but the 3n1 LED lighting strips were easier. And instead of going to any of my lights, me and my buddy wired directly to the wire harness to thr drivers side harness .
So I'm from Wisconsin but the Wisconsin members section is ya, dead.
2012 GMC YUKON SLT 4WD(shorter base) either gonna level it or put a 5inch lift with 33's.
So i thot I would venture southbound to my neighbors.
I'm new to overlanding and maybe get together with some guys from yalls...
2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LT.
DiabLew tuned. 8.5 inches of lift on 37 inch Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXPS. Kryptonite upper control arms. Bilstein steering stabilizer.
Next year will include Kryptonite ultimate front end and a Whipple super charger.
I'm not retiring yet. I'm only 45,lol. I will wait till military retirement at 59 1/2,lol.
And hell i just started my own 1 man business on the side about a year ago and busy as heck. Thinking of quitting my day job and going full time at my side CNC business. I'm turning down potential...
Yes I am retiring the truck and the container. Here ya go. Mine is the other white one next to it.
Iowa huh, never been there, always wanted to go tho. I've been as far as that metal bridge that separates Savana Illinois and Iowa.
Nomad we have talked before but didn't know if ya were getting any messages. Ya a link up is definitely possible.
And Meher ya we are neighbors. I was just up that way about a month ago making a drop off run. I was towing my buddies Silverado 2500HD inside a shipping container with my...
Well maybe at some point next year see if we can garner enuf attention for an Indiana/and around weekend camping/overlanding trip.
Post it well in advance of course and see if something can happen.
I mean that's what overlanding is about also in some ways. Planning, meeting, exploring and...
Whatchall got down there for overlanding, trails, scenery and whatnot? Don't mind getting away for a weekend sometime next year.
Driven thru Indiana, but never stopped in anywhere .
Thank you for the info. I will definitely check it all out.
Been on here for a couple weeks now. The Wisconsin state seems to be kinda dead for communication and such and learning bout the trails and what and whatnot my rig can handle.
So just means I will have to treat lightly when I...
You plan on doing this trail again by any chance before the end of the year or sometime next year?
Would like to tag along as this would be my first time overlanding in Wisconsin.
Have a good one.
Anybody alive in the MidWest region? Seems really dead.
Wisconsin is really dead. Like nobody is active it seems. So if that means at some point going outside of Wisconsin with someone who knows overlanding hell I'm definitely game for a weekend.
Someone to also teach me the ropes.
So...
I see the Wisconsin area and the Illinois area as well are pretty quiet or obsolete.
I see it used to be active but has fallen off.
It seems like one of the premiere Overlanding sites there is tho.
Let's see if we can't get some more WI/ILL members to kick wake up.
How's it going RamRod?
So you drive across that border on a daily basis for work huh? No thank you, lol. Your a better man than I.
Ya frontiers are nice SUV'S. I myself will most likely choose my GMC Yukon SLT instead of my Silverado 2500HD. Easier to maneuver in and out of tight spaces...
Hell I'm usually off Fridays of work anyways so I'm good to go there. Air compressor i got, gear i got, saw saw it got with always a charged up battery, ax I got as well and yep got traction boards also. Winch not yet but will definitely have one when I do solo runs.
Suv with brand new Cooper...
Sounds good.
Would you consider a novice sometime when it comes to overlanding? And when it comes to the vehicle aspect of things? I've been mudding, hell grew up doing it but obviously overlanding is definitely something different
I have 2 vehicles. Both 4wd, one is a stock GMC and the...
