    Ottawa Valley Loop Question

We got into some really tight spots and fun places. We ended up taking the Sled trails through the North Frontenac Parklands from Ompah to Calabogie with s stop in the parklands to camp. with the trailer on once we dropped into a few spots we realized that we were not getting back out the same...

Depending on how much travel you are wanting to do. Hungry Lake/Granite lake both are amazing for camping and fishing.

    Dehydrated vs freeze drying foods

As a dumb army guy i have had my fair share of find dining with a titanium spork

    Dehydrated vs freeze drying foods

I find that dehydrating food before the trip does take time but you gain 75%-85% of that back on the trip in the fact that you can almost eliminate your cooking time and if packed properly you can also reduce your needed dishes to a spork per person. Yes, carrying water adds weight to the...

    Coachmen TD 9.0

The town has changed but our house has been here since the late 1800's per the archives. We are right on the main drag across from the Highschool. We needed the 12.0 as our family is 4 kids, two dogs plus the wife and I. The kids will inherit the RTT set up as it works better for them anyhow...

    Field Comms

That is very true. I used to work in aviation so i had to get all my comms licenses for use in that and have spoken to both the coastguard and other SAR here in Canada. If a true emergency you can broadcast on the freq and get help as well

    Field Comms

Do you have a HAM license already? I noticed you are also Canadian. The best set up I have seen for use here is a UHF/VHF Radio. I have the GMRS FREQS programed along with Coastguard and CF SAR. if you don't have training on radio procedures stick with GMRS to start and get some further comms...

(Ontario, Canada) Looking for a Trail buddy?

As the title says I am looking for people who want to run trails together. I am not brand new to this but am finding myself having difficulty finding new people to explore with. I have one dedicated friend but as of late he is getting into the more extreme trails and well... I still have to...

Water tank to fit in LPG tank storage spot?

i have an old one that i may do this with but without the cutting. I will need to see if i can unscrew the valve first and then figure out a pick up tube to standard garden hose connection. If it works maybe go forward and create something for the market? I know there are 100's of...

Water tank to fit in LPG tank storage spot?

I love this idea. I know you are looking for a square set up but now I wonder could it be possible to refit an out of date LPG Tank into a fresh water tank? That is 4Gal/17L give or take of onboard water and if it could be pressurized it would make for a very convenient water source assuming...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Not today but within the last 2 weeks. I wheeled the crap out of it on some very fun trails and also learned that having air assist springs is needed when loaded with the wife, kids, 8 days of camp supplies, bikes, kayaks, I also field tested my upgraded trailer.

Post pictures of your camp kitchen

We have Kerosene at the pump in my town. I use that in place of the camp gas they sell at the store. I find it has a little more odour but little to no difference in my lanterns or stoves for performance. I also carry it in a 20l Jerry can so I have plenty. I do have a propane stove but it is...

Summer Heat Camping? Yes or No?

I have camped in Temps from 45*C to -35*C and as said before if you are prepared you can make it enjoyable. When super hot we tend to seek shade and be less active from 11am-3pm mainly reading and lounging unless on the road but the we have AC. For hot weather sleeping gear makes the largest...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Installed a new UHF/VHF Radio with Short Range antenna for on the trails. I also made two portable set ups using my existing Puxxing 888s with Speaker Mics and both Short and Long Range antennas These are mainly for the kids when they go exploring when at camp.
