My .02 on the matter is it comes mostly down to where you want to be able to go versus how much to you want to take with you. The 80 can take you almost anywhere from mild to wild. The Tundra is larger so you can bring more gear but it will be more limited on the places it can both fit and...
There were too many “yahoo’s” for my taste with the blasting music and “hold my beer” crowd. I passed 2 different groups pulling out broken rigs. This year has been one for the record books. I think I’ll stick to the quiet ones like Dusy Ershim. He are a few of my pics.
Well I didn’t see you but there sure were a ton of people on the trail! We got on the north entrance at around 2:30 and exited Hermit around 5:30. I was surprised at how technical the trail is, especially the lower 1/3. Is that the normal condition of the trail? I have read and seen a lot of...
I’m heading up tomorrow 8/1 and plan on running Deer from North to south (88 to 4). Probably won’t be on the trailhead until noon or so. Will be in a green Wrangler lifted and locked. Also just my daughter and myself.
Just like the title says, just wondering if anyone was going up to Coral Hollow or Sour Grass this weekend. I am going to Arnold but I’m undecided on if I will bring the “rock crawler” or not.
Thanks for the invite. I will try and be there but my teen is in a theater production that runs over the weekends in Morgan Hill so it may be tough. I’ll keep it on my calendar for sure.
I will add my limited experience with a friend's RTT on his FJ Cruiser. As others have pointed out, there is a lot of up and down when setting up and breaking down and RTT setup. My issue is mostly around my personal height. At 5-4, the hassle of dealing with it being that high up was just flat...
Hello fellow OB members. I am going to be at Sunriver for the last week of June and wondered if anyone had suggestions on good 4x4 opportunities in the area. Will be in my Grand Cherokee so mild to moderate suggestions only. Thanks in advance for your time.

I highly suggest going out highway 168 from Fresno and look up around Huntington Lake. Several campgrounds in the general area and a lot of things to see and do. Not a bad drive from here either. (I'm in Gilroy)
Hello fellow OB'ers. Anyone been up around Shaver Lake and or Bald Mountain in the past couple weeks?? Wondering what the snow situation looks like....... My guess is that it is still a bit early yet.
All I can share is, when you’ve been on the Con once, you’ve been on the Con once. This trail changes every single time you run it. Especially from year to year from the freeze thaw cycles. The other huge variables are the Jeep and Jeepers Jamboree’s. The trail is always much easier after these...
