I'm not really surprised at this change, its the only beach you are allowed to drive on without a permit. Cape Hatteras NPS requires a permit Cape Lookout doesnt but it does require a paid ferry to get over there. Fort Fisher south of the outer banks is cheaper but still requires a permit...

I'm a big fan of the MSR Hubba Hubba but my backpacking tent before that was a REI Half Dome 2 and it held up really well

Its been pretty good, I plan on adding a table slide to the bottom of it and maybe some maxtrax mounts on the side but since I only planned on mounting the RTT its perfect size.

You mind sharing, I'm thinking about maybe going up that way early December ? I saw on the ioverlander app that it shows a camp about a mile from I40 on the trail

The event is getting better each year with field camping, vendors, food and the movie they showed. BUT The trails were super crowded and some of these jeep clubs were 15-20 deep in rigs. Nobody is using any type of trail etiquette......

I use to go a bunch but with the increase of wreck-less driving, drunk drivers and atv/utv's blasting side trails and around you I have decreased it to 2-4 times a year. I normally go to the jamboree's and workdays.

Their content is so good I normally watch it a few times during the year
