Sometime during the pandemic, I decided I wanted to get into the Roof Top Tent game, with fresh Bush Company gear from CVT (CVT had just started importing it and putting on their own branding) and of course some bling like...

Dometic Fridge in Pickup Bed and Bear Country

...Black bear are only a major problem in developed campgrounds and mountain towns where they're used to seeing a lot of people (and trash). I'm not sure if locking a grizzly away from food just makes you the next best snack, but I'd probably opt for hanging the bag in a tree away from my tent.

Dometic Fridge in Pickup Bed and Bear Country

I always keep a boom stick, bear spray, and handgun in the tent with me at night and can exit the tent onto the rack if I needed to see what's going on without being on the ground. As long as I don't get pulled out of the RTT without warning, then I feel like I'd have a chance to get out of a...

    Camping in mid-october

...There's not really a limit other than your preparation. We've done OB trips down into the teens at night with 9 in of snow. What sort of tent and/or cold weather gear do you have, if any? It all goes back to watching the forecast and what elevation you plan. Having said all of that, I...

Sweet rig. I also like that fold over the front tent on the white truck. Softshells aren't my thing so much, but I like that arrangement.

    Why No Camper Forum?

Thank you so much for advice! I’m looking to get an air mattress that would fit in my truck bed and have a tarp or something over me to prevent rain or something protective from the elements. :)

    Why No Camper Forum?

...a very long time ago, I was able to sleep just about anywhere upon anything. Nearly 30 years ago my wife and I started out with a cheap Coleman tent, cheap little rubber/foam sleeping mats and a couple of sleeping bags from our local Army surplus store. It rained a lot that first time out...

    Lets See Your Pop-Top Rigs!

Sure, after a lifetime of building out our own Jeeps- Landcruiser and expo trailers and camping in tents and later on in a rooftop tent , my wife and I decided to go full time. Once that decision was made we spoiled ourselves and had our new home on wheels custom built. The aluminum bed was a...

...of remote areas, so that should take center stage. now granted, the wife and I did start off with ground mats and sleeping bags in a leaky tent and over time we have moved to a memory foam mattress and better pillows...but generally we do keep it very simple and focus a lot more on location...

    Why No Camper Forum?

I’m new to overlanding, so looking forward to setting up things in the truck bed with a tent overhead. It’ll be so wonderful or even something where it’s just for my dog and I. Go stargazing, and enjoy nature! Any tips for beginners?

    Anderson Plugs

...plugs because of they're propensity to walk out. I'm using them for my fridge and 12v for my RTT (lights, charging electronics, and CPAP in the tent), as well as cooking area lights I've got one of these https://powerwerx.com/panelpole-panel-mount-powerpole-black-dual And then these crimped...
