Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
There are options for D1 and D2, but not D3. Im talking axles, not gear box, which is what you’d change with larger wheels. There are probably some of the same components in the Defender and D1, but I’m not savvy on that. Defenders are too expensive for me to even think about...
How have the 35’s treated you? Did you add spacers to keep from being DOA with a suspension fault? Bump stop/no roll has me a little intimidated from going larger than the 265/70/18’s (33ish) I currently run.
I guess I don’t get the point you’re trying to make. While the Austria stuff is awesome, it’s expensive, as proven by your previous statement.
I’m not making any statement wether it’s worth it or not, it’s just a commentary on the price tag.
BTW, I’ll take a HIVE camper over patriot any day...
In USD the patriot x3 is advertised at $56k and change. No idea what it includes( or doesn’t). I make no claims wether it’s worth it or not, just making the observation.
I’m assuming you mean May 21st since you just posted this. I’m not sure the elevation there, but snow is an issue this time of year if you go high enough. Gaia doesn’t show any there on their snow depth layer, but don’t be surprised if it’s there. If I had a group I’d try it with a backup plan.
For me, I think the way I store it is the cause of the rust issue, but I don’t know that it’s really seasoned well either. I thought the nylon bag would be good for keeping it dry and rust free. It appears it lets moisture in and won’t let it out. When I pulled it out the first time this year it...
How do you guys store these and keep them from rusting? My brother gave me one he made and I can’t keep the thing clean or from rusting. I treat it with oil and keep it in a nylon Christmas wreath storage bag but it just isn’t working out. I keep everything in the trailer so we’re ready to go...
Well, the latest update is.... My SWR meter and jumper cable are bad. It’s a new to me Workman model 104. When I went in to pick up the radio, I asked if they could test it. They spent a good half hour comparing it against their $600 Bird meter. He said the readings I was getting were consistent...
The hood is aluminum... Is there a problem where it’s mounted, aside from my height issue? I have every intention of getting a quality antenna, it’s just down the road a little way. I’d rather spend money on a new antenna that mounts to what’s already there than a complete mag mount unit.
I’ve...
Yeah, mag mounts are hard to use when the entire roof is glass. The only steel I’ve got is the band on the front and sides of the front sunroof.
I wasn’t intending on that antenna being the only one, but I kinda blew my budget getting everything else set up. I also frequent a very low parking...
