Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I'm trying to cram major build components into my rig between now and then. I'm just hoping I can have them all installed and ready to go by the end of March.
Next time you're down, just start turning off hwy 1 at every side road you see... you'll get to plenty of private property signs, but you can get fairly deep on some roads before you see them
All within the next few months... using a little bit of the equity line mind you.
1) Fusion front bumper
2) Alumines rear bumper with swing outs
3) custom ladder rack made for RTT and cargo
4) Autohome AirTop RTT with changing room
5) Rigid LED lighting
6) re-gear truck to 4:11 (from 3:73)
7)...
There are several roads that I took pictures on, but my favorite was just south of Costanoa KOA, but still north of Anu Nuevo reserve. That's where the creek shots are from. But you did nail some of the landscapes.
So, I found myself in Santa Cruz Monday morning. The same day we got all that hail that looked like snow on the ground. Well on my way back to HMB I decided to hit ever dirt road I could find, and follow it as far as I legally or physically could. Here are some shots from that little trip
You're coming through my neck of the coast. Be sure to stop at Cameron's Pub for a "Cameron's Killer Burger" and a beer. Let me know when you're gonna be here and I'll come join you. One other little gem is just a few miles north of HWY92 in El Granada called Hopdogma. They make all their own...
Yeah, they are big, but I'll be putting mine on a ladder rack, so it will actually be over hanging the windshield of my truck. Will be a great sun shade when we take desert trips. I am a few months away from finishing my build, then I'll post up some pics.
I will be getting an Autohome Airtop in the very near future. Its just my wife and I in the tent, and I'd rather not have the "flying brick" on my roof rack that is all other RTTs. Besides, the 3.5 inch thick mattress, plus insulated floor and roof, plus aerodynamics when traveling is well worth...
I noticed low end power loss when I went from the factory 265/70/17 to a 35s.. Re-gearing to 4:11s with ARB airlockers are next on the list. I am however running an automatic. Maybe the manual can handle it better.
I will respectfully disagree with the above statement
I'm not sure that I agree with you here. If the truck were a manual, or would remain a pavement princess, then sure, leave the 3:73 highway gears on. My truck is an automatic. I'll take all the mechanical advantage I can get. Using the tire...
I wish my rig had been ready to go, but I didn't want to be that guy that broke down. SO..... please tell me there's a video so I can live vicariously through you guys. =D
Thanks bro. Yeah I've drooled over some of the new trucks... but the 5.9L HO Cummins is one of the last that can use straight veggie oil, or run the high sulfur diesel that is south of the boarder. Once I put the 30 gallon spare tire tank on there I'll have damn near a 1,000 mile range, still...
