Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Today was the beginning of a weekend maintenance.... well, day! Tackling the 3-amigos and replacing a leaking waterpump and ancient thermostat as well as adding my shinny new swivel shackles into my British built bumper
With the low volume of snow this year it looks like those of us in the Inland NW May get a chance to get up into the mountains for some early spring camping by spring break! With that in mind, why not grab your overlander, your kit and a trusty companion and head up to the Colville National...
And now the rear end gets some love, got this from Lucky 8 and other then the bolts it came with being too short was on in about an hour but going to make a lot better piece of protection then the sad little plastic bumper!
I know down in the lower elevations there is little to no snow, but for those of us around the 4K elevation we have just enough snow to make a snow run fun. Looking for interested parties wanting a little adventure New Year’s Day. Don’t have to be a modified vehicle, just be prepared for snow...
Here in the Northwest we like the snow and think it’s the perfect time to install new parts in the driveway! So I added a perfectly beefy bumper and swapped my ol’winch off the older trail truck and took it out to make sure it was ready for when winter gets serious!
I have a British built Venom tube bumper on my D2 and am using a Harbor Freight 9500 pound winch since I use it for log dragging and vehicle recovery and I’ve kept the wire cable but replaced it with 150ft as appears to the shorter stock wrap. Your lucky the 4.6 is a better engine then the 4.0...
I swapped out my 2002 transfer for a 1999 model so I could install the center diff lock, just needed the actuated handles as parts we inside the transfer case. I also added a true trac into the rear diff which makes the traction control work less hard and made it a more trail-able truck. Had to...
Not my first Rover, just the biggest. This one is going to be for kind distance lighter off-road overlanding, where as the others serve there purpose for what they were built for including some lofty plans to rebuild a Disco 1 into something for more extreme overlanding.
The biggest challenge is finding companies to support the idea! We’ll have to design and build practically everything from scratch as this model has nearly 0% aftermarket support. I’m even going to learn to weld so I can do much of my own work.
This is Christopher in BFE trying to find someone to fabricate a Bumper for my overlanding Full Sized Range Rover where I can protect the front end and support my comeup 16t winch as well as my off road lights and still have my front camera and proximity sensors in place! You suggested you know...
I'm going to try and be in Sunday, as soon as I locate the number and login password. And no, were to far north of the fire to see anything but a lot of smoke.
I'm probably not seeing this right, but does anyone have a rally point for this weekend that isn't in the middle of the US. I'm heading out sat, morning but other then the camp ground is in Idaho, not clear as to where it is. Anybody have a grid or GPS location or the name of the campground so I...
