Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I guess we better confirm the trail before we run it. According to the Jeep Badge of Honor site, it's suppose to be "easy" to "moderate". I'm not looking to damage my Jeep. lol. I just want to get out and see the sites. I think the trail we're going to run should be easier than the pics above...
I'm sure on most of the trails you'd be good. The GC is a very capable vehicle. Basically, you have to take a ferry over to the island. But there are hotels, etc. on the island. You know me though, I'm not into anything too hardcore. So I'd probably just stay on the moderate trails. If your not...
Well, I just convinced the wife that we should do the U.P. again this August. Didn't hurt that I invited all her kids up this time. So we're looking into spending some time in the U.P. in August now. Probably go to the same cabins in Germfask that we usually stay at. It's a pretty cool place...
I'm ready for summer too, lol. We should start looking at campground maps and getting an idea of where we want to camp. But yes, bring the fishing poles.
Ok, I'll have to put in for the day off at work and see if I can get it off. Might be difficult, might not. I'm all for heading out at the crack of dawn on Friday and getting there in the late morning. I'll have to check at work tomorrow and see if it's going to be possible. Hoping so. But will see.
Welcome to the forum. I wish I had some advice for you, but I don't have any experience with truck toppers and cargo baskets. TrexTerra brings up some good points. Hopefully someone will chime in and be able to offer up more info. Have you had any luck with Google, looking up information?
@Wildland Outdoors has a camping place picked out for us. Most of us sound like we'll be tent camping. I would love to buy a tear drop or m416 to pull behind my Wrangler, but we're saving for a 5th wheel. He called and they said we didn't need reservations. However, if you need electrical, etc...
Awesome! Glad to see you were able to get out and enjoy it. You have a very capable vehicle. Take care of it and it will take care of you. I hope to make it down that way someday and do some back country exploring. Wish I didn't have to work so much. lol
I'm hoping to. My wife want's to do something different this year. But I'm hoping to make a trek up there sometime after the cherry festival in TC. Much appreciated.
Great trip report. Great photos. Amazing they came from a phone. It's crazy how far camera phones have come. Glad to hear you had a good adventure and were able to conquer the challenges you faced. Your trip is inspiring and that's what makes forums such as this so great. You're inspiring others...
