Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Since you mentioned the Maxxis Rzr tires, I run their MT and it is surprisingly quite for how aggressive it is. I'm on my second set and have been very pleased with them. Also have a friend that had them on an F250 and got 30-40k out of them so they last pretty good.
Welcome to the group. We have a seed farm down in Boardman just south of the Love's truck stop so I'm down there a bit. I've always had a thing for suburbans and have had 2. 1999 3/4 ton with a 454 and an 1984 with small lift, 33's and a 6.5L diesel. Should have never sold the '84, with the...
I failed yet again! Went out camping and playing in the snow and didn't take a single picture to show you guys. Friday we headed up to the Malheur NF about 30 miles south of John Day. Forest road was actually plowed up to the turn off for the campground, but that left a 3-4 foot berm we had to...
Not sure if I'll be able to camp but I'll do my best to make it over for this. Is there room for camp trailers where you're planning to camp, 35' bumper pull?
Thanks for having me out on a few trips this year, I had a good time at all the ones I made it to. I'm still bummed I missed Wagon's East, my wife and I were both looking forward to doing that run again. As of now I'm still a maybe for Saturday. I have plans tonight, all day tomorrow and a...
It's a possibility. I would first get a volt meter to make sure the battery does have plenty of voltage, then make sure the starter solenoid is getting good voltage to it. That vintage of Ford should have the solenoid on the firewall or one of the inside fender wells, that is what you would...
As it looks right now the weekend of the 15th is my only free weekend in Jan, but keep me posted and I'll do my best to make it if you get something together.
@Ceg, how are snow levels looking for the New Years day trip? I'm not 100% I'll make it but I'm going to try. Where is the meet up spot and about how long do you plan to be out?
Yes, just adding a rear locker will make a big difference. I'm running a lunchbox locker in the rear with an open front and I get around trails pretty good, granted my suspension is far from stock which can really help when it comes to keeping tires on the ground. But if you're only running...
Not sure why they would do it. Around that time is when most manufactures were starting to sell more AWD models of their SUV's, maybe it was Dodges way to move that direction. Both transfer cases were a 242 and from what I remember when I had them apart they are the same. Just in the AWD...
Before you get too deep into research and finding a locker for the front, is your rig 4wd with a selectable 2hi in the transfer case or is it the AWD with fulltime 4wd and part time 4wd? I don't remember the year but around '00/'01 they took the option of 2wd away in the Durango. If you have...
Wish I could have made it out for this but I didn't get home from AZ until around 9 Friday night and I think the adjustment to temperature would have been tough. Do you guys have anymore snow runs planned for the near future?
@LunarOne, did you make it up to Saddle Mountain the other weekend? I'm thinking I should have skipped my previous plans and gone with you. I ended up having to change the water pump on my 3500 Ram in a parking lot in Pullman after having to make a 1.5 hour trip to track one down.
I'm going to be out of town Fri/Sat this weekend or I'd be interested in tagging along. That area is pretty close to us in the Tri Cities, but I've never been there other than driving through on the highway. If you make it over head up north of Vantage on the east side of the river and check...
Thanks for the heads up on places to check out around John Day! I've noticed there is a few hot springs in the area, might be fun to mix in some of those. Any good camp spots you found down there?
