    Homemade expedition trailer

I've purchased doors for the square drop build I'm currently working on. To mean, the benefits are worth the cost, and the fact that I know they'll seal.

Are you planning on triangulating the tounge? It looks like there's going to be some weight to your build, so having that extra rigidity should help mitigate the rotational forces. You certainly don't want the draw bar to have a twist in it.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I do. It's a 5kw model. There was a plan to put a 2kw model in the new trailer, but I may just stick with the 5kw model and route it through the windows. I typically have to run mine on high during the southern Idaho winters, but it keeps my tent plenty warm. The insulated trailer will...

Goal: simple day to day life, small(ish), offroad capable – a Jeep Gladiator build

I'm so glad you spotted this thread. I was gonna throw out a mention so you could give your experience with the flexible panels. His experience caused my to adjust the design of my trailer in order to accommodate a 200w rigid panel on the front angle. I've heard the horror stories regarding...

I completely understand. The biggest benefit of building your own rig is that you get to build it to fit exactly what you need. I'm struggling personally with the idea of having to carry multiple fuel types myself, but in the interest of build cost savings, it's really my only option. Gas...

Goal: simple day to day life, small(ish), offroad capable – a Jeep Gladiator build

A 7 foot wide trailer wouldn't fit where I wanna go most of the time either. That's why I'm building a 5 foot trailer. I see your point about the propane being difficult once you leave the US. I don't share your hatret of propane (it's all I've ever used), but I completely understand your...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Huh. That's the same one I have. Maybe I just have a bad one, and need to get another..

I 100% understand the reasoning behind getting rid of the patriot trailer. I've come to a similar realization with the RTT on top of the trailer as our only means of sleeping after doing the ID BDR last year. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love that setup, and it has worked extremely well...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

What ducting do you use? It looks a lot better than what I currently have. Have you noticed any sort of hot plastic smell? If you could provide a link to where you got it, I'd really appreciate it.

First Attempt at DIY fire pit

I've read that not adding an air mixer causes the firepit to smoke a bit. I used it inside my awning room (with an open floor, so it wasn't fully enclosed), and noticed that I had quite a bit of smoke. I lost my Regulator hose, so I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

    Diesel heat

I have a 5kW diesel mounted in an mtm box on my spare rack. I use it to heat my RTT in the winter. It works awesome. I'm planning on permanently mounting a 2kw in the trailer I'm building. I'm going with a 2kw due to the insulation I'm installing. If it's not enough, I have enough room to swap...

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

Finished building the fold out part of the kitchen today. I need to cut some aluminum angle to mount the stove, and drill and fit the propane bulkhead fitting, but the rest of it is done! I've gotta say, it turned out almost exactly like I had planned. It's a tight fit with the stove in...

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

I've tried, for sure. Over the last couple of years, we've really narrowed down what we want in a trailer. Barring towing a stand up camper with a toilet, this setup will have everything we need. I'll be migrating the water pump from the old trailer, as well as one of the 10 gallon tanks. I'll...

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

Ok, I think I've finalized the design of the trailer. Bear with me here, as there's a lot to go over. First off, exterior shots, giving an idea of what it's going to look like when it's all built. 3/4 Passenger (Camp) side view 3/4 Driver Side View Rear Galley View Inner Structure...

Well ya I may keep this one (granopy) 1995 Silverado

Talk about lucky! Good looking truck! My dad still has his 98 extended cab long bed (that he bought new in 98), but he doesn't drive it all that much these days. Still runs and drives perfectly though.

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

Made the outer part of the kitchen box today. Still have a bit more work to do before I can start the pmf process, but overall, it turned out rather good, but I I think.

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

I took off everything off the trailer that I could yesterday. I now have a 5x9 flatbed, and a good base to build on. I finally got a good look at the trailer in the daylight. There are a couple of things worth noting. I think I am going to have to move the axle back a bit. I haven't...

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

Frame has been acquired! I'm planning on building the kitchen box this weekend, to test out the pmf process. I'm working on scoring some doors. Once I get that nailed down, I'll post what I found.

    SW Idaho Overlanding

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it to this one. I've had a medical thing come up in the family which takes priority. Be safe, and let me know how it goes.
