  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Family adventure trailer

I use some scissor jack style stabilizers, and don't seem to have this problem. Are you opposed to changing the type of stabilizers that you use? What's the distance between the bottom of the frame, and the ground?

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

Made a trim piece for the bottom edge of the fridge box, painted it black. Also took the top trim piece off, and painted it as well. I need to cut a new piece for the front drivers side. The piece I put on originally was a bit short, but I've since found a longer piece. That'll take care of...

US Northwest ORBDR Points of Interest?

I'll agree with Larry. Derrick Cave is fantastic. Bring a coat though.... It's very cold down there. And dark once you get back in the cave. Very neat though.

US Northwest ORBDR Points of Interest?

@GHCOE may have some ideas for points of interest in ALOT of these areas.

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

Took the trailer out with @GHCOE over the weekend for a PROPER shakedown run. Definitely found some things that need fixing and adjusting.

    Homemade expedition trailer

I don't wanna hijack the thread, so why don't you post that question over in my build thread, unless you're wanting to know where OP sourced his doors. https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/reavers-squaredrop-camper-build.48105/

    Reaver's Squaredrop Camper Build!!

Heading out on Thursday for a 4 day trip. I'll finally be able to test the water tank sensor. Im still not sure how I'm going to solve the freezing water lines, but it's getting warm enough where I won't really need to worry about it for a while. I've been getting some smaller tasks done on the...

    SW Idaho Overlanding

Hopefully we won't get rain, or very minimal. Although, I guess I'd rather have rain than lots of wind. The 270 will keep me out of the rain...

    SW Idaho Overlanding

Yeah, due to circumstances last year, I couldn't really make any of the trips. I've already ordered a new leaf spring center bolt to replace the one that took a hike. That's why my axle shifted. I was able to get it to an o'reily parking lot, and @David H and I managed to get it mostly back to...

    SW Idaho Overlanding

I'm gonna try and make this one. I'll be bringing the trailer, but I might bring the truck this time. I'm not likely to have the xterra fixed in time.

I'd love to make one of your guys trips, but you gotta come farther south! Which section of the BDR are you running? Also, I maybe could make the lost river trip.

    Wood or Propane fire pit

I carry a flat pack wood fire pit. This is my preferred method, but of course, sometimes, there are burn bans. In those instances, we use an ammo can propane firepit that I made.

    MtnXterra Checking In

Welcome, fellow Nissan fan! I also own a D40 Frontier (2013), and an Xterra (2003). My wife also has a 2002.

    F350 CCSB

I have a light weight tarp with poles, an arb 6.5 foot straight awning and room attachment, and a 270 awning. I've not used the 270 yet, but it'll be amazing when I camp in the rain with the trailer. My arb with the awning room is awesome. We've used it many times to protect from wind, bugs...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Built a rack for my fridge box on the trailer, and mounted a dewalt box I had laying around up there for some weatherproof storage. I also installed a port on the side of the trailer so that I can use the diesel heater without putting the ducting to the window.

    Diesel heaters

100% truth right here. Although, in my case, I have r7 insulation (average) in my trailer, 280Ah, 400w solar charging, and 20A (soon to be 30A) dc-dc charging. My main fuel tank is a 1 gallon rotopax style, and I have an additional 2 gallons to refill that. But my setup isn't what most people use.

    Diesel heaters

You usually need to replace all the control parts together to make sure they work. https://a.co/d/clXjtyr I initially tried replacing the board in one of my 2k heaters with a slightly different model number, and it didn't work. So all the parts need to be designed to work together.

    Diesel heaters

You should be able to upgrade the control board and controller to match the features of newer models. Both heaters I have are 2k models. Both have a built in thermostat mode, and I may test it out on my next trip. I have parts coming today to start working on a heater inlet port for the side...
