  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

Wish it would've been daylight going to Wind River Canyon it would've been amazing. We were in a hell of a thunderstorm and the lightning would strike and just light up the canyon like it was daylight. Was really amazing. Most of the mud is off the truck after going through that storm. Sent...

Well at about 12,000+ feet there's a noticable drop in power but since you're wanting the diesel the turbo should make up for it. It's also worth mentioning that we're in OK and will rarely get to that elevation. Getting roughly 20mpg average for the trip going 70mph. Spotted a couple of Bald...

Seriously whatever happened to just getting that old beat up truck bed trailer and tossing a rack/camper on it? Surely you can build one heck of a truck bed trailer cheaper than $2500. Just have @okieoverlander help with the welding right?

That's a nice trailer but I can't quite determine if $3500 is a good deal or way over priced. I know it's more than I'd care to spend. Sent using OB Talk mobile app

Can’t beat a $300 XJ in good shape. Not sure what gen Taco you looked at but the new ones are meh. Prior gens are fantastic. They hold their value for a reason. Best part of Overland Bound is that it doesn’t matter what you drive as long as you’re able to get out and find some adventure. Sent...

@okieoverlander drive it before you buy it is my recommendation. I wanted a Taco so so bad but just didn't like it compared to the Colorado. I had a G8 GT prior and can honestly say it's a totally different GM than 5-10 years ago. @oz45c they have some great videos of a mostly stock zr2. Sent...

You'll probably be best to tow it with a dolly instead of a car hauler trailer Sent using OB Talk mobile app

You'll want the diesel then for sure, but take a look at the towing weight. It's much less than if you got a z71 or lower level.

@OKT4RCPL A Taco TRD Pro Offroad was my first choice but after test drive wasn't sold. As a 4 Runner guy the rumors of the new Bronco would be the only thing that would be something I'd be watching. I'd expect it to come with some Ecoboost engine as standard and I'll believe the off road cred...

This pot is getting really warm all of a sudden. :coldsweat: I wanted a Ranger until I saw one at the OKC autoshow. Had an 89 when I was in high school and loved it. The new one was the most boring truck thing there. Heck the Honda Ridgeline looked better and had a better interior. The Ranger...

I've got a zr2 so feel free to message with questions. I'm looking forward to BDS unleashing their 4 or 5 inch lift for it and tossing 35s on it. On the ColoradoFans.com there's a guy with a development kit and it looks so bad ass. The girl in the pic is 4'10" according to the owner. Sent from...

Oklahoma City to Red Lodge Montana via Colorado and Wyoming

Oh man sorry to hear that about the couple and that sucks it's closed now. Have some family friends that were talking about something down near the river in Cody they took their Polaris RZR. Don't think they went to Idaho but I'll keep that in mind. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk

@JetDriver This is still a ways out there but I think a lot of the OKC guys have signed up for the Rendezvous in the Ozarks. That's the largest event I'm aware of coming up. https://www.overlandbound.com/event/rendezvous-in-the-ozarks-2018/

Oklahoma City to Red Lodge Montana via Colorado and Wyoming

@Ntgm37 I love going to Cody. We usually go there when we're up. The St. Patty's parade was really fun a few years back. Sunlight Sports is my favorite store. We may skip Yellowstone and Tetons this trip due to some changes in time constraints and how packed I imagine they'll be the weekend...

Advice for trails near Red Lodge Yellowstone area

Hi all, Planning being up in the Red Lodge MT, Cody WY, Yellowstone area July 9-14 2018. Usually fly in to Billings and head down to Red Lodge in a rental. I'm pretty familiar with the area and have hit up what I can in a rental car on previous trips. Driving up this time in my Colorado ZR2 and...

Both sound like great options and could probably caravan to/from OKC area to them. Could take the OAT out to Keystone. OAT seems a bit out of the way to do on the way to Beaver.

Thinking of sticking to Central OK or maybe migrating it a bit? Could do a day cookout thing down at Crossbar, Maybe a day down at Mt Scott. Cookout near one of the lakes? OKC area doesn't really have much for checking out each others rigs and hanging out.

Oklahoma City to Red Lodge Montana via Colorado and Wyoming

@hjason.hay We've been up to Red Lodge a lot and have hit up the surrounding areas. We normally fly into Billings and have a rental so most of the exploration is limited to paved areas. I plan on hitting up a trail around Cooke City just north of Yellowstone as well as going up Hellroaring Road...
