Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Michael and Corrie will have a another YouTube Live event within the next 2 weeks or so at 11:30 hrs pacific time (20:30 CAT) The time has been specifically chosen so EMEA members can join. It would be great if you can all come say hi!
If you have any specific questions you want to ask then...

I’ve had no issues with the NL either, the Engel is more efficient on power (probably because of a better compressor and insulation).
Put it to you this way, if I have to buy a fridge now and I have the cash it’s an Engel, if I’m on more of a budget, the NL
I own both. My trailer came with a National Luna (about 4 years old now) and I’ve had my Engel for 15 odd trouble free years.
Engels are much more expensive (over here at least) than all the other fridges but it would be my first choice because of its longevity and efficiency.
Stove and oven ;)
Jokes aside, in my trailer I have a built-in dometic and in the car I use a Campingaz propane stove (branded Gas ONE GS-1000 in the US). If you're going to overland internationally I'd recommend a dual fuel stove as propane connectors are different in different countries and...
Please join me on 17 Apr for a gripping and intimate look at the current rhino poaching war raging across South Africa. Please consider donating towards this cause as well!

Hi Folks,
Have you checked out the map lately on the Overland Bound One app?
I’ve started loading campsites etc and would like to encourage you to do the same please! The more data we load the more useful the app becomes.
You can also load tracks with GPX files if you didn’t know
Go check it...
It is certainly a game changer for full-timers and content creators on the road in remote areas. I am concerned about the amount of potential space junk this can create as well but at the same time it will make my life a lot easier (and interesting, live streams from the central Kalahari...
We only get the 4.2 1HZ in the Troopy. Only the 76 and 79 have the 4.5 V8 option. Albeit slow as a dog, the 1HZ is bulletproof and is better suited for the poor quality of local diesel
Thanks Blaise!
1. We’ll do a combo of one-nighters and base camping but probably more base camping.
2. Yup rhe 1HZ motor is bulletproof but it’s heavy on fuel and very slooow
3. When it’s set up like ASPW’s it’s not bad
4. Yes I meant just driving it every day
5. Yup, definitely more space...
The struggle is real
We usually base camp as well, one of the main reasons I got the trailer in the first place. There are a few places recently where we've done quite a few one-nighters and where I wouldn't take a trailer (notably crossing the Central Kalahari). My car is set up...
Thanks Björn, forgot about shipping!
We'd like to circumnavigate South Africa (mostly on dirt) first, then Southern Africa (Nam, Bot, Zim, Zam, Moz) and maybe even a Cape to Kairo (or abouts) trip. From there who knows...
