Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
ive personally watched at least 5 friends hydrolock engines in the southeast, and have had my jeep deep enough for water to be within a few inches of the intake, so I for one will definitely be snorkeling it soon.
Yes, it may be costly, and could I avoid deep water crossing? yes, but im not the...
I had a buddy of mine who had the smittybilt ones on his jeep, the worked pretty well. but since they didn't cover the entire area, when he took them off, he had "new" outlines of them against an otherwise mildly scuffed paintjob. It took some buffing to make it blend in.
with that being said...
I cant speak specifically for your Tacoma suspension. but, in general the TRD line of Toyotas is a well built line of vehicles, they already come with upgraded suspension and 230lbs added to the front should be an issue, and account for the weight of the factory bumper coming off makes it even...
Im still in the army for 18 more months, I still visit campbell fairly often and I love being in TN so I explore around the state when I can. ill be passing through soon heading to Missouri for a couple months. maybe we can go hit some trails(or the bar)
Devils Fork Campground on Lake Jocassee, SC. Amazing place, amazing lake, 42 Waterfalls to explore surrounding the area with thousands of trails for both hiking and offroading.
Also, if you enjoy the beach. you can try Hunting Island, SC. it offers camping in the woods, with hookups, bathrooms...
Man, my best advice is to find one fast and scoop it up. I know youre looking obviously, but theyre disappearing fast.
I just fought the battle of trying to buy one from mopar and about 30 other sites. They discontinued the rubicon 44 axle for the JKs and the closest you can find to them is...
THAT!! THAT THING!! the American adventurist rendezvous, what is that. (yes I know I can google it, but where the good OB conversation in that?). sounds like something id like to go to .
what part of SC are you from? Im currently in the army and knew a Gregg(last name) from SC. Just had to check. Im in the same boat, never bought anything 2 wheel drive and was always a truck guy, until I drove a jeep, I can honestly say it has changed my life in the short time ive owned it...
There are actually quite a few companies that will insure your vehicle for the cost of the truck plus all the add ons included. I know for sure Esurance will. but with that being said, theyre taking a risk and it wont be cheap on your end.
however.. im not sure that they would cover theft of...
most states allow carry of a handgun in your vehicle as long as its locked in a compartment and some require that it be unloaded. I carry mine almost everywhere I go in the jeep in a lockbox under the seat. if im anywhere in the southeast out camping I usually have my .22 with me for fun.
second to what desert runner said.
minimum 10k winch should suit you fine as long as the mounting point is solid. a 12k wouldn't hurt at all and isn't much more of a price difference. snatch blocks = lighter load to pull, I recommend atleast one, but 2 is always better if you have the options...
