Useful Plan B for camping in private land

Let's face it, sometimes even with eyes wide open on the tracks, iOverlander, park4night and other ressources, it can be a pain to find a spot to sleep in the wild. I usually try to find plan B spots on gamping.fr to avoid "regular " campings as i kinda hate them unless they are tiny /...

A useful tool - Dangerous roads

I discovered it thanks to you Mark when talking about tunnel du Parpaillon and it's a very useful database indeed. Thanks for sharing!

First time planning a trip - French Alps

You are doing the right thing. It is the Darwinist way of planning haha. I mean, the whole process looks always the same to me : the first plan is big as you want to see the most you can while you're there. Then you let it cool down and begin to look deeper into the maps and double check things...

    Toll collect system

Correct Mark. Yes, you save time using the toll badges. And the more crowded the road is, the more time you save, as it allows you to drive at 30kmh and detects the chip to open the barrier without having to stop. It's a real game changer on highways, as everybody is waiting in lines and you...

Window tint... Let's talk pros and cons

Also on my to do list. My priority is UV/heat protection, but i reckon i never really know how to park my car properly because of the rear visibility so i know it will not help me with even less visibility. Therefore, before tinting the glass i need to install a rear camera.

First time planning a trip - French Alps

Unfortunately, french have not understood they could make money with overlanding tourism. Paying a toll would be great but the motion is more to restrict the area to motorized vehicles. Stupidity at its best : last year they said the tunnel was too dangerous so they would close it for good...

First time planning a trip - French Alps

Amazing that it was dry here is a good video of the tunnel in july. What is interesting is at 2’14 when you can see what can collapse, on the left side, the brick wall, and then a few seconds after all the upper bricks. This tunnel has been forbidden, then re open, and so on till 2018 when they...

First time planning a trip - French Alps

Oh you found it on a website called dangerous roads so you already know [emoji23] Yes the tunnel is legendary and there is a risk. Also for the road as some side (i don’t remember which one it is) wether which way you get into the the tunnel can be very dangerous (not consolidated and parts...
