Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I take these three with me about 400lbs worth of dog. They usually sleep on a their beds on a tarp outside the tent. If it gets cold they want to come in the tent. Which works for me because they keep me warm.
I think you guys are a little off base on emergency personell using radios, if I am in a life threatening situation I want the police, EMT's or fireman to be able to communicate. And by the way all three are trained in tactical driving before they can be certified to do their jobs.
I try and take one trip alone every year. Generally I do not plan to much and just go for a weekend. I usually keep the food simple, backpacking food. Pack light and stay on fairly easy trails, getting stuck in the middle of nowhere alone sucks. Solitude in the mountains makes me happy.
This is the Merced river at Indian Gulch Rd near the Mariposa/Merced County line. Normally the river is about 25 feet wide at this point, it is now about 400 feet across and the water normally goes under the road, not over it.
r it.
