I was lucky enough to see a few California Condors at Pinnacles National Park last weekend and I had a camera problem and so had to take a few shots with my phone. I would have been very greatful to get "lucky" like you did.

The Schrade SCHF9 is my favorite knife, it is great all around knife and less than $40 on amazon. It is if the same quality of knives that cost 5 or 6 times as much. I also carrier a Buck 110 that I have had for 41 years daily.
I did the same thing with a $20 turkey fryer but used an old cast iron wok that my mom had. It works great. I can also use a large cast iron frying pan on it.
Went to Yosemite on 3/25 to see the waterfalls. I usually do not go to the Valley at the park except in winter due to crowds. But I knew the falls would be huge due to all the water, so I had to go.
Not really an overlanding trip because I went for the day and wanted plenty of time to hike and explore the park. But if weekend or more were made out of it there is plenty of opportunity to explore dirt roads and nearby BLM land. Hollister Hills is also only about 30 miles away.
