Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Cool! I love the use of the e-track stuff in the bed. I was originally going to do e-track points (sourced from Harbor Freight) and wood mounting surfaces in my Ranger, but I ended up building out a modular box and mounted my gear to that. It all comes out in two primary pieces pretty easily...
Sweet! This is going to be cool! Just a suggestion that comes from driving around with tons of ammo cans in my "company car" for years - I'd consider adding some sound deadening material like Dynomat to the inside of the cans to help with noise maybe? I'd think you'd be able to find some...
It's official. We should be closing on our new house in Boca Raton in January. My wife starts her new job December 6th. I'll be moving down there late February. The adventure begins!
I'm going to have to wait a long while before I get to add sliders to my truck. We are relocating to Florida and have a contract on a home. My wife is just seeing the $$$$ flying out the window. My plan is that when we get settled, I'll sell her on the idea of "step bars" that will make it...
Oh wow! This is cool and looks like it has so much potential! My mind is racing with ideas of what I'd do with it if it was mine. Can't wait to see how that big thing turns out in your hands!
I think I'd like to snag something to put my own touch on, but I'd want it to be somewhat roomy and comfortable. I think I'd grab an M1078 and build it up with superb creature comforts but I'd still have it maintain it's military edge in appearances.
There were times I was submerged above my hubs, but I wouldn't characterize it as a rough trail. The Gladiator had an aftermarket lift on it and broke a heim joint. With our tools, he was able to get it apart and knock it together, and then put everything back.
That trail out that goes under...
I missed the bridge. :( We wanted to get back home to our respective wives to surprise them for dinner! HAHAHA
There were parts of the tunnel that were surprisingly deep. There was a Jeep Gladiator that came through after us that actually broke his suspension in there.
Thanks! We've found a handful of houses we like in the Boca Raton area. I'm thrilled there are Wawas in the area! I'm from Jersey and grew up with Wawa and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the move just for Wawa! HAHAHAHA
My wife has been interviewing for a job down there. As much as I love getting out in my truck, the thought of upgrading my boat and heading towards the Keys is exciting!
It's called Nemo Tunnel and is located in TN - and it was a really cool trail ride! This is what I found when I looked into the history of the tunnel:
Interestingly, the "City" referenced in the quote is Cincinnati. They are believed to possibly still own the tunnel as they actually owned...
WHAT A BLAST! I took a day trip from ATL, GA with a local Ranger guy to meet up with some of of the FL Ranger folks at Nemo Tunnel in TN. We got there really early, wheeled around for awhile, and even helped out a Jeep Gladiator that had a suspension issue on the trail (aftermarket part). As...
This is a pretty cool project. I'm a Ford person through and through, but I remember seeing one of these as a teenager badged up as a Peterbilt and I fell in love with it. Overlanding will be a cool use!
