Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I have that one. Cobra 75WXST installed in my rig. Good radio. You can check it out at the overlook or what not. I use the weather the most. Just wished they had a PA mode on it.
Well Girlfriend just said she is in as well. So the girls will get the RTT and I will likely hang my hammock. I just looked up how to get to the overlook. Cant really miss it up pole canyon. My daughter is super excited, this is her first non backyard camp trip of the year.
I take it some of us...
I already own the bumpers (owned the Shrock before I owned the X... yeah backwards I know but I palnned what I wanted to do and started early on everything. Hence first hand account of the wait. I really like my setup (Shrock front, Maxterra jerrycan rear). I was relating waiting to something...
Other than packing the fridge, Im ready. Have a few sleeping bags and blanekts in the rooftop tent, did a once over this weekend when I changed the oil and did my tire rotation, everything looks good. I am pretty sure my 11yr old daughter will be joining me but that is always subject to change...
New pack-able BBQ grill, I'm going to experiment a little with it over the coming weeks, but they seem to have a following online. This is the medium sized one, which I think is great size for me or the family. $40 on Amazon. Even if I'm not happy I will just add it to the box of stuff for when...
2 things.
First, care to explain what happened?
Second, make sure it is very well protected/ secure. With a plastic valve body like that, it will be the weak link in the setup. I went with a USCG rated holder, tied into my interior rack (which has held a few hundred pounds, IE solid), using...
I'm in like a fat kid at a buffet. May have the family may not, more than likely it will just be me and my daughter as mommy is not a big outdoor fan. I will likely stay up at a campsite overnight just because. Excited to meet more of the Overland bound crew however. See you all there.
You bought Hborns rack huh. Congrats. You will like it... except for the install. Riv nuts blow, Take your time loosening the factory bolts on the rack. Slightly tighten to break the locktite bond then loosen. Don't use power tools, and I recommend 3/8" ratchet adapters bits for it, makes it...
I have an Tepui Autana Ruggedized and I keep 3 Kifaru sleeping bags inside, 2 20* bags and a 0* bag. I also keep a Hill people gear Serape, I have used the serape as a bag down to 30* just fine. If its colder than that I know can crawl into the 20*, my daughter is a polar bear like me so she is...
Funny story, and I have all of you to thank. In my post above I showed off a FJ that we ran into at REI with my daughter. Well today my girlfriend is out and about down town and my daughter freaks out telling her to stop for a minute. My daughter leans out the window of my girlfriends car and...
I decided to call work early (10AM) but still had 60 hours for the week, picked up my daughter and did the mirror lake scenic highway. River was flowing good from the melt off, still a bit of snow near top (@10kft), but a nice drive. On the way back home I called REI and they got more of the...
Looks like a great time, I am trying to talk the family into a run down the Colombia River Gorge. May be sending a few PMs for ideas, but looks like a great time!
Man... I would have gone, I was in Palmdale California since the 15th, but if a regional event comes up again, defiantly post up here as we are subscribed and will get notified. I also run a RTT so an overnight is no worries for me.
Great looking photos guys!
Don't like working on the truck or just no tools. Most these mods are easily done with a few tools. The snorkel needs a drill but post up pics. also be prepared for the constant points now that you got a snorkel. It's weird how many people think it's exhaust.
I just remounted my RTT for the summer. Its amazing how many people you see point, take photos, and videos. Just finished packing a bag as I fly to Palmdale California for the next week, will be home Friday evening, and hope to get out for Memorial day. Still a ton of snow up in the mountains...
