    Full Size vs Mid Size

I get it that I won’t find a do it all rig, but I am gonna try lol. I love the Ford SDs but they are large. I hate the experience I had with my last one after the turbos blew, dealer didn’t want to warranty it and then while trying to squeeze 10K out of me, went bankrupt and closed shop. That’s...

    Full Size vs Mid Size

Good point as your just reminded me my exhaust on the power stroke was like 1800+ degrees. Makes complete sense that it would be a danger in wooded areas. I didn’t evan realize it. Thanks! I am also concerned with diesel when traveling outside the US with it. Canada not so much, but anything...

    Full Size vs Mid Size

@ChasingOurTrunks it’s like I am talking to myself ... lol My original thought (and still top choice) was to throw either a PCOR Tray/Canopy or a RSI Smart Tray/Canopy. The PCOR would allow for the dog box. This is what I was imagining for my sons service dog, his own space. However heat/cold...

    Full Size vs Mid Size

Regular maintenance isn’t the issue, it’s when something goes wrong. My last power stroke DRW blew up its turbos and the repair was 10K.... which is why i second guess the diesel thing all the time. Especially outside the US.

If they still made the excursion, it would be at the top of my list.

    Full Size vs Mid Size

@ChasingOurTrunks you list sounded like a Jeep list at first. The reason I really like the Diesel Gladiator is the fact that it offers a platform that meets a lot of the points for me. Transfer case, frame, 5 passenger, and truck bed. I want a diesel for long term use and high mileage, as a...

    Full Size vs Mid Size

Thanks everyone for the insight. The reasons I am having a tough time making a decision are: 1. Transferring from off-roading/rock crawling to overlanding. History points me towards wanting to able to manage all size trails. 2. Family size and comfort is priority if I want them to come along...

    Full Size vs Mid Size

Looking for some guidance... I have always been a Jeep guy, a truck guy, and a diesel fan as well. With that said, I am patiently waiting on the Jeep Gladiator Diesel as I feel it will be the perfect truck for me. However, being new to overlanding, and trying to work out the loading up a 5’...

    Service Dogs

That is the dog we would prefer even though your right we can’t seem to find a reputable trainer to train one as service dog.

Ground tent options for family 4 + 1

The only drawback would be the lack of an “outside” screened area with the core. Which can be resolved if needed.

Ground tent options for family 4 + 1

I am actually looking at the 12 person, 2 adults on 1 side, 2 kids on the other with dog. Which would allow some space in the middle for gear, or for just hanging out, or as a safe area for my son. For $300, looks easy enough to set up alone too if needed .

Ground tent options for family 4 + 1

I have seen that and realistically is I think I would get an awning. how do you like it? I have seen some reviews online but nothing with a family. how long does it take to fully deploy? do you know if you can attach it to a 270 awning? I know the room would not be the size of the 270. sorry...

Ground tent options for family 4 + 1

I am actually down to choosing between these two tents based on recommendations from this thread. For family of 4 + son’s service dog (going through process now), and also provide a screened in area / safe space for my son (autistic) ; while also providing a place for my wife to escape too as...

    Overlanding and CPAP

@Airranger84 in another video I saw while doing my research, Goal Zero has a “link” that ties it to the car similar to a dual battery setup. Might be for lithium only though, I don’t remember. However I figure I would mention it. You guys can see it that works for you.

    RSI Smart Tray/ Canopy XL

On another forum I have been following the development of a RSI Smart Canopy, Smart Tray, and Canopy XL for the Jeep Gladiator. Since Overland Bound has members all over the world, I was wondering if anyone has experience with RSI products. If so what can you tell me about your experiences with...
