    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

Sounds good to me. I'll create an event for it on here so we can get an idea of who & how many to look for. I have never been to the Norman cars & coffee, am I correct to assume it is the Crest Fresh Market off I-35 & Robinson?

The Cars and Coffee is at the Crest Foods in Norman the morning of the 13th. Maybe start there, then potentially find some dirt afterwards for those interested.

I think its definitely time for another Central OK meetup. We had a couple in the Norman area last year - one at Rudy's, the other at Hollywood corners - I enjoyed both and they were both well attended. I think the Norman Cars & Coffee idea is a good one. So I guess that makes the next one on...

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

Yeah one of the old K Trail stories I heard is that somebody got multiple flats from hitting rebar spikes submerged in a mud hole. Had to have been put there by an angry property owner. For all I know they could have been way off the trail though.

I really appreciate the open dialog on the K Trail. I have always wanted to run it, but hesitated due to its sketchy online reputation (essentially 2 or 3 bad experiences with certain game wardens and tire spikes that have been rehashed multiple times online). It sounds like as long as you...

Oklahoma Adventure Trail with Turtleback Trailers - 10/05/2018

I'm cool with mixing in a little 2 lane blacktop. We definitely want to have plenty of time to do the loop through the Kiamichi mountains around Talimena scenic drive. The forest roads through there should be really cool. Cavanal Hill and/or Heavener Runestone are some other POI we could check...

Oklahoma Adventure Trail with Turtleback Trailers - 10/05/2018

Well, we are a week out and I am getting exciting. I have been driving my TJ as much as possible the past few days hoping to shake out any issues. So far she seems to be running strong, I think I just need to change the oil and load her up. Its looking like my wife and dogs are staying home, so...

Last I heard, there are 250 rigs signed up for the event so I'd definitely appreciate you saving me a spot. Hopefully there's enough room for everyone to camp! I'm looking forward to your first aid class, thanks for offering to teach.

This just in. I can in fact make it to Rendezvous in the Ozarks! Bad news is that I won't be getting there until Saturday morning. I'll miss the organized trail runs but hopefully I can hit some of the trails around Byrds, then maybe go into the national forest a little bit on Sunday.

Oklahoma Adventure Trail with Turtleback Trailers - 10/05/2018

I know I am getting pretty stoked for this. I'm probably going to head out of OKC on Thursday the 4th and hook up with the OAT south of Stillwater. I'll probably mix in some state highways and find a campground around Bartlesville.

Isn't Hogan's off road park in Disney, OK not Davis, OK?

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

OAT all started in the dual sport motorcycle community. Here's the link to the thread where you can download the GPS tracks. The thread is still pretty active with people running various portions of the trail. Maybe "well documented" is an overstatement. I would expect to have to make a few...

Oklahoma Adventure Trail with Turtleback Trailers - 10/05/2018

I think I can make it! I've been wanting to get on the OAT for awhile, sounds like this is my chance!

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

Check out the Oklahoma Adventure Trail or the Oklahoma portion of the Trans-American Trail. I know the TAT has its own website where you can download the GPS tracks. OAT is also well documented, GPS tracks or maps shouldn't be hard to find. There's some threads in this forum about OAT as well...

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

Welcome! Glad to see the central Oklahoma group continuing to grow. Cross Bar Ranch is a 6000 acre off road park in Davis that is worth checking out. I have been down there twice and only seen a fraction of what's there. Its a good day trip, but there's also some decent camp site on the south...

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

I saw those on the list the other day. I'd really like to find an m416, the m101's are a little big for a jeep. I can't believe how much off road trailers sell for these days, it really makes me contemplate building my own.

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

I'd like to see a turtleback in person if they came to OKC. I've been getting into trailers lately, probably because I still haven't figured how to get my wife and dogs and camping gear into my TJ.

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

I had a lot of fun. I am so glad we were able to get together and make this happen. I don't know why Cross Bar Ranch doesn't have a better reputation. I have been out there twice now and had a great time playing around in the rocky wooded hills. It's a great day trip for anyone in central or...
