Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Good score on the Buddy heater! They really do work well. I have the Little Buddy, and I agree with what JC said....it's definitely not very stable, at all. I always pay extra caution to how I position it when using it. But it does throw out some heat.
I'd be totally down for that. I'd probably want to make a weekend out of it since it's a 3hr drive, so camp out as well. Are you definitely just doing a day trip and coming back?
Vasque Snowblime UltraDry's......for me, the most comfortable boot I've ever owned, because they fit me perfectly. Even though they are an insulated boot, I still find myself grabbing them all year round because they're so darn comfortable, even in the summer.
I'm pretty sure @12Sven95 used Iron Pig down in Fredericksburg, if I remember correctly from our conversation. I've only used 4wheelparts up in MD for a suspension/tire install.
Hmmm...yea, being that you have the 2000 you'd have a tough time getting the wider Tag Along to work. The awning poles need to mate up to the ends of the Tag to provide support. Maybe the smaller Tag's would work?? I'm not sure what the width is on the smaller versions.
The ARB and ARB...
Hey Motoboss, you are correct. Just get the Sunseeker Double Zipper, insert it into the ARB awning rail, and you'll have a zipper to attach the front/face of the Tag Along tent-it works perfectly. With the second zipper on the Double Zipper, you could attach an awning extension, or rainfly...
Laid down some first tracks in the snow yesterday on some gravel roads out west of DC. We don’t get snow often, so it’s nice taking advantage of it when we do!
Oh yea, can’t forget about the Tower! It’s only about 1/2 mile past the entrance to PMR and the hike is about 5 minutes out from where you park. Great views and if you look just below the tower you can see where people launch for hang gliding.
A couple of other points of interest...
Trail is pretty easy. It's lots of rocks, but no big obstacles. All of the water/mud holes are off to the side of the main trail. Totally doable in stock 4wd's.
Day passes are only $5 and can be purchased at the Fort Valley convenience store, right where Woodstock Tower Rd. t's into Fort...
It’s the RV-5 Tagalong, attached to an ARB 2500. The Tagalongs were $300-kind of hard to pass up at that price. If you’re interested, message me and I’ll send you the contact info. It was a listing on another forum. They may still have some.
If you want to make a weekend out of it you can camp right next to PMR's North entrance at Little Fort Campground, or any of the dispersed campsites about 3 miles north of the entrance on FR66, right near Mudhole Gap. And there's always Elizabeth Furnace Campground down on Fort Valley Rd and...
Picked up an Oztent Tagalong on a closeout deal so figured I’d see how it worked out with an ARB awning, and compare it to RTT sleeping as well.
Went and camped on a spur of the moment outing this weekend to try it out.
For anyone curious, the Tagalong works perfectly with an ARB. You just...
