Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Not sure if many are aware but there is an event in Rally Point next weekend in Southern Co. for the Alpine Loop. There are still openings. I understand it is a ways to travel, but we are overlanders, lol. If no one has ever done this, it should be on your bucket list.
That Thurs., the 3rd, will be a very long day for me. I'm not going to be able to make it all the way. I have a hotel in Montrose that night. It will be a short drive for us on Fri. then.

Northern Ut. here. If you have something upcoming, I'm game. I was up in your area last summer did more of hwy miles than trail miles. I know that we still have too much snow here, most of the forest roads will be blocked off till mid June or July.

I've checked out Expedition Utah and the only group trips I've seen posted is the Relic Run and Freeze Your Tail Off. I've seen some single folk post their past trips. Not sure if I'm missing something or not. I did a search for Silver Island and nothing current came up.

Here's what I've done. Sometimes you just don't have the trees. I bought a steal frame at Home Depot for around 100 bucks. It comes in 8 pieces and just slides together no bolts or nuts. It's kind of heavy but I'm not backpacking with it. Here is a link from Home Depot...
