Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I personally would go with steel. The only reason being that if I smacked a rock too hard, I can bend it back. Aluminum will be done for... That being said, how likely are you to have that occur? I've never done it before. I have alloy wheels on my truck.
Welcome to the group! You'll be thoroughly impressed with what 4x4 will do to change your life.
