  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Yes! I would love some good camping spots there that I can direct people to as I think most will be rolling in after dark to Juniper Dunes. That would be really helpful. We are using it as Friday night’s camp spot and in the morning people are free to check them out for awhile before we head...

US Northwest The North Idaho Meet Up is Heading South To Juniper Dunes-Palouse Falls- Rainbow Lake

UPDATE POST The Rally Point has been updated. @Ebbs, Cody, and I pre-ran our route for Saturday and the Snake River location won’t work well, but we did find a nice camping area near Rainbow and Deer Lake. Palouse Falls is a really cool site if you haven’t been before. We will make lunch there...

It might very well be the situation, that’s why Riparia would be a possible option. Friday night at Juniper Dunes, maybe go see Monumental Rock, Palouse Falls, then camp at Riparia.

I was looking at this spot across from the falls. GAIA private lands map layer doesn’t list an owner, so idk if dispersed is allowed. 46.66320, -118.22491 As an alternative nearby on the river is a rec site, not glamorous but camping is allowed on the boat ramp side. 46.58072, -118.08892...

We may head that way, we are trying to see if there’s dispersed camping near Palouse Falls, or near Monumental Rock

    Off-road alone.

Good question OP, great responses everyone. If I could advise myself when I was 24 years old I would say there’s a difference between being alone and lonely. And I would admit to myself that we are built to be in relationship with others whether that’s friends, significant others, or God. I...

Great seeing everyone today. I think we are gonna have some great trips together. Thanks everyone for the suggestions for our March trip. Once I get the GPS coordinates I’ll put up the rally point.

DIY 270 telescoping awning mounts for rack with an iKamper RTT

Sounds like the wheels are spinning. On my Tacoma build I ended up sliding my privacy tent out telescopically from the dead space from between the rear window of my truck and my rack. That way it came out far enough to clear the truck and sliders. I have a DIY thread on it here somewhere. I’m...

It’s a cool idea if you’ve got the room on top. Wouldn’t be too hard to DIY I bet, or purchase those ones.

So it would lay flat on the roof and flip up for use?

You could use nesting square tubes and gas struts to assist with the vertical lift. You might even be able to put the gas struts inside of the square tubes so it compresses when stored. I’m going to use spring steel push button locks and weld on a set screw to prevent any rattle.

DIY 270 telescoping awning mounts for rack with an iKamper RTT

Little more progress on my mounts. I’m going with longer plates that will have bolts in all 4 corners so the weight sits evenly on the welded bracket elbows. Should reduce torque and flexing of the awning at the ends when they swing open. These look rough for sure. The front bracket is...
