Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
When it comes to a base camp set up it looks good, gives you the added room and a bed off the ground. You can leave it set up all day whilst you head out and explore in the vehicle.
I used to look at the old coleman fold out trailer tents and wonder if I could make it work. In my mind I was...
With our trailer set up we used the Coleman Dual Fuel Stove and again on our trip to Mongolia.
We have had this stove for over 15 years from taking the kids camping in the lakes to where it is now still in the Landy.
Main reason for taking it on overland trips was ensuring ability to get fuel...
Hi Lee
good to see you here and welcome.
AO Show was more of a mudfest than show I think ;-)
Have a look through the forums etc and let me know if you have any questions.
We also have a region facebook page and whatsapp group you are more than happy to join.
Also remember other regional...
Nice to see another Def 90 being used. We were continually told our 90 was too small for overlanding but we went ahead anyway.
Its had a few incarnations since the start but still going strong exactly as we had it for Mongolia except now a 270 Awning for Scotland's weather.
I use Ram Mounts for my Tablets etc. Not let me down yet and lots of combinations.
Cheaper options are available but too often they fail and you end up having to replace.
Good morning from the AO Show

Re reliability it depends what you buy.
My Land Rover is over 23 years old and apart from things like wheel bearings and UJ’s it never skipped a beat. All which where understandable on a 2 year 54k mile trip. It’s early ECU so only 3 sensors to shut it down.
Most overlanders prefer earlier...
Best advice regarding vehicle choice I can offer is decide wat kind of Overlanding you want to do then pick a vehicle and set up to suit.No one vehicle ticks all the boxes so utimately everything is a compromise. I'm lucky enough to have the Land Rover Defender that we took to Mongolia and also...
I'm sure you will find lots of great information on here. I'm not much help I'm afraid I'm a Land Rover Defender man but if I can help with any questions regarding long trip overlanding I might be able to assist.
Best advise is reach out on the forums and be active and participate as it is the...
Great Weekend away for us, enjoying camping, walking, eating (too much) and a spot of mountain biking.
We had an easyer egg hunt with 2 easter bunnies.
Now home with a tired dog and grandson and prepping for the Adventure Overland Show, leaving Thursday.
Live into it as you go, make the small changes you need. Too many rush in for the rack, roof tent, boxes then realise they didnt need half of it and could have saved themselves a fortune.
