Living in the woodsy PNW I carry my machete, splitting axe, couple hatchets, two 24” & 36” hand saws, and my multi tool.
inside the rig I have small pocket knives for little tasks.

I get my Velcro from the local craft store. I have quite a few patches and the Velcro holds good.
Pickup at DIY centers and local craft stores. I find the craft stores carry very sticky brand Velcro.
