    Harbor Freight gear

The HF Snatch Block looks exactly like the ARB Snatch Block I bought about 20 years ago. If you have synthetic rope I would look into one of those synthetic Snatch Rings.

What mileage did you purchase your rig?

I bought my 99 4Runner with 87K miles on it in 2007, it now has 274K miles.

Inverter for a 3rd gen Tacoma

You need to do a power audit of the electronics you want to run or charge to know for sure. But from the information you gave us I would say a 600 watt pure sine wave inverter should be close. And as mentioned above, get a fridge that runs on 12v and 110v and run it on 12V in your vehicle. The...

Planning year long US OVerlanding journey

The best trails in the US are in Utah and Southwest Colorado (and California, but you are from there), I would spend a lot of time in those two states.

Planning year long US OVerlanding journey

Having just done this over a two and a half year period, I would recommend not trying to hit every state as you will spend most of your time driving and not enjoying the adventure. If you you hit every state in the lower 48, that would only give you a little over 1 week in each state. Here is...

Utah Wanted All the Tourists. Then It Got Them.

Most parks are like that, I can verify for sure Yellowstone, Yosemite, GTNP, Badlands, Zion, Bryce and Canyonlands are that way. We went to these parks in 2019 and got there early and there was never anyone at the entrances before 8AM of after 6PM.

    Camp Toilet

We use the Cleanwaste GO Anywhere Complete Portable Camping Toilet and also their waste bags. The last time I bought bags was October 2020 and the cheapest place was a 50 pack on Amazon, we paid $101.10 back then, but Amazon shows that same pack for $161.82 now. Ouch, I guess there really is...

    Thoughts on the Garmin Montana

I have the Montana 700i, so far it works as advertised. I was also able to add some old Garmin Topo Maps I had.

    Need suggestions using Anderson plug

Important Note, Most Lithium batteries cannot be charged when the temperature falls below 32 Degrees Fahrenheit. A Few manufacturers are now putting heating elements in their batteries to overcome this. If you buy a Lithium battery that does not have a heating element, you could either add one...

    Garmin Overlander

They only made a PC version and a MAC version, they have stopped development on Bascamp, but in my opinion it works fine, and when I logged in the other day I got a maintenance update, no new features. I still use Garmin MapSource to modify my routes and tracks and to save them as individual...

You can get around this if you use Garmin Basecamp instead of Garmin Explore.

    Need suggestions using Anderson plug

If you just want to run the fridge, run it from 12volts and you will NOT need an inverter. I would look into the Victron Orion DC to DC converter, they make quality equipment and wont break the bank compared to the redarc.
