I have a 150 and love it. Does a lot. Definitley get the FX4 package for the E-Locker in the newer models. I like the 250 or larger but the years i could afford had horrible motors in them. The honest only downside is the width would limit you on some trails. Other than that, i don't see...
Awesome response gang. And yes I'm also considering others as I've come across plenty of overheated and busted vehicles on the roads.
No V8, twin turbo Ecoboost so oil for sure.
Appreciate the tip on the sealent. I'll check into that devcon.
Rig is a 2010 F150. Not leaking anything now. More worried about ripping off a tube somewhere, a seal failing or something similar. 144k miles on the truck. Not a Senior citizen but its not a baby either.
Looks freaking outstanding. Really like the beefiness. I like the lift idea. I'm a huge propenent of just a small lift and slightly larger and more capable tires with some armor of some sort for the vast majority of "overlanders" out here. I think you'll be happy. When you do though, be sure...
Plenty of places on the east side of the state. Not sure about the west. I know Hoosier national Forest is supposed to be fairly easy riding off road. Good looking truck! Always figured they were called expeditions for a reason, lol. Welcome aboard!
So I think I'm going to put together a small/medium sized tote with spare Fluids to keep in the truck. Figured I'd list them out, let me know if I'm missing or off on anything:
3 quarts of oil (truck takes 5)
5 quarts trans fluid (truck takes 13)
1 container of antifreeze
1-2 cans of brake...
This is true, but the cost to have them rebuilt or serviced isn't that bad. Fox sells the parts for about $75 a shock plus labor. Still way less then a new pair of coil overs.
Just got my T4 today and closely inspected the floor. Looks damn tight with no issued spotted.
Dseck have you taken the floor out and tried to reattach it or is yours like that without ever having taken it out?
Welcome! Lot of Nissan's hitting the game lately it seems which is cool! I feel like Nissan is the just as capable but doesn't cost as much Toyota, lol.
Awesome man! It's definitely tough with the little ones. I'm taking my 5 year old on his first trip next weekend pending the weather. Then trying with our 5 yo and 1.5 yo in a few weeks. Biggest issue for little ones i think is temperature and length in the car if they aren't a fan.
Unfortunatley its sold out but heres the link. Not sure if you can waitlist or anything. mountain state overland - The Adventure X Fest #advxfest #uniquelyalleghany
