Hump Day Check In
Got some computer work done and now using my fancy calf compression machine to help my leg swelling. Wonder what people would think when they hear the air pump and release in the middle of night while camping… LOL
Great Day filled with activity. Breakfast with @Sand Squid to plan some Rigs & Coffee and break some ice for future trips around the fabulous state of Oklahoma. Be sure to follow Manny! Exciting adventures ahead.
It’s been a long, good and productive day. Of course the wind in Oklahoma is horrible for vehicles on the road. Wish I was camping on the stars right now.
@SlimJimOKC
Excellent captures my friend! Thank you so much for sharing. I know that the non-member that showed up from our photography group really had a great time. She was texting me earlier today.
I wasn’t able to make it since I wasn’t feeling great and certainly didn’t want to pass on my sickness to anyone.
@SlimJimOKC did make the journey picked up some trash at the campsite and hung out and took photos of the eclipse with a nonmember photographer that showed up. I’m sure he will post...
UPDATE:
I woke up very sick this morning and tried to push to make it but probably best I stay behind. My partner in crime Jim, @SlimJimOKC, will be there to clean up and help with photos.
I’m really sad to miss this event and hope we can connect on future ones.
Share lots of photos Jim!
Spend last two days wrenching on the Element to change out the VTT. Would’ve been a lot quicker that I’m not stripped the heads of the bolt in a hard to see place between the engine and the firewall.
Managed to finally get it out and took Elvira for a test drive and No Codes!
Enjoying some warm fabulous weather in Oklahoma before Mother Nature cools down for snow this weekend along the I40 corridor. Then back to 80F next Thursday for the Lunar Eclipse!
@OkieDavid It would great to see you and meet in person. Just to clarify, the eclipse starts on Thursday at 11 pm and runs until Friday at 5 am. I'm thinking by 8 am on Friday we will be out and looking for local breakfast.
Of course, the weather is set for partly cloudy so crossing our...

I'm making plans to spend the night photographing the Lunar Eclipse On March 13 - 14, 2025 at American Horse Lake.
After visiting the location today, I was shocked by the amount of trash left around the site, from empty beer bottles and cans to luggage and inflatable mattresses partially burned...
@highboy4x4
I completely forgot to get my tickets and I bet I missed the discount. LOL. I did purchase the Discovery Tour but it maybe way over my head. I don't know why I thought I could do it in a day. :laughing: We are planning to stay in Tulsa on Wednesday night to visit with friends, so I'm...
Today I visited a nearby lake managed by OK Wildlife Dept for a meetup next week for the Lunar Eclipse. I was shocked at the amount of trash that people leave behind. I'm not an avid outdoors person but I'm trying to spend more time in nature and witnessing the disregard of this Oklahoma...
