So I ended up going with the following setup (ordered): Luminoodle - 10 ft - I'll wrap this around the RTT rack and below the tent itself so I can light up the bed of the truck for easy night operations. I can also remove it easily and take it with us when we go fishing, hiking, etc.

We went to Moab and went through about half a tank going around White Rim. With that said, I had about 4 gallons of spare gas just in case. I'd always recommend taking extra.
Haha. I might need to change my approach then. I've been sliding mine off the back. Maybe that's what it causing it to bend

Hi @PapaDave . How are the KB Voodoo rails working out for you? I bought mine several months ago, and when removing my RTT, the back bar bent. I coordinated back with KB and they sent me a new one for free. Are you seeing any bending in your rails? And has it held up to the weight of your...
Thanks for the info! I think we're eyeing the Kiabab area for at least a night. You think a stock truck can handle the trails out there for the most part?
Awesome reply @Road ! I'll mention what you said above to the wife, as we enjoy the less-commercial aspects of doing these trips (although we'll do some touristy things). Sounds like the North Rim is perfect for what we're looking to do. We did White Rim in Moab last year and have since tried to...
Hey fellow overlanders,
My wife and I are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon at the end of next month, and I'm 100% unfamiliar with the trails down there, including hikes. Is there anything that is a "must do" at or near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon? We're looking for potential overland...
I'm looking at either Bilstein 5100s or OMEs. Nothing crazy. Just want some extra clearance to fix the 285s, and avoid scraping my bumpers and tow hitch. Also throwing in a Headstrong add-a-leaf pack to handle the weight of the roof top tent and camping gear for when we overland.
I've had KO2s...
Yep! Still stock though with stock size Duratracs. Contemplating a lift and tires this next summer so we can start exploring more places. We've done a decent amount of exploring in the Gold Camp Road area, but want to expand to Ouray and ski slope areas this summer.
I'm always up for trips, but might be unable to pull off a week long trip. I don't know much about north west, but I know there's a good trail that heads up Breckenridge Peak 9 that I want to take a look at this year. I've also considered Dinosaur National Monument, but haven't done enough...
Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I think after looking at everything, rechargeable is the way to go, and it seems like there are multiple companies that create high powered pods that would easily attach to my rack by magnet. Helps me avoid all of the wires and switches!
Thanks @James Deaton and @Gary Stevens ! I'll take a look at both and see if anything fits what I'm looking for. I thought this would be a super easy find, but it's looking like battery powered is less common than I expected.
Hey all,
Does anyone know if battery-powered LED Pods exist? When I say battery powered, I'm talking AA, AAA, 9V, that have their own on/off switch on the pod itself. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find anything .
I am looking for battery powered to avoid having to wire up lights...
