I scan the NOAA Radio Freq on all my radios it just part of the Scan loop, but if I want details I have a Garmin 66i it's like a Garmin Inreach just with some more functions. The 66i can show me on the map the weather moving in you can stay ahead of it even when you cant see it.

I love it up there, we are lucky I am in the East Valley I have Box Canyon just 30min east of me Tonto NF 20Min to the North and pretty much take trails all the way to you. I have only lived here for 5 months but I am loving it. try to hit the trail once a week more if I have time.

Driving around with the little one, the closes trail to us has closed due to last years fire burned all the vegetation so when it rained flash flood washed the trail away in the canyon.

Trying to plan an overnight but most the stuff I know if closed due to fire or no camping due to fire damage or risk!!!

Just a little day trip on our way to Costco with my little girl, she is 5mo so more day trips out than anything but she did well on a 5 day trip in apache NF this summer.

We were up there not to long ago when there was the stretch of 110 and above. We stayed at Winn campground its ran by USFS the have only portable water, so it nice for our family of 6 for 4day vs trying to store and carry 50 gals of water.

We live in Gilbert and head up to the White Mountains when it get hot down here 3 hr drive but at 9000 feet much cooler.
