    New Mexico Hiking And Astrophotography

Amazing shots. I've spent time in the southern half of the state but never up here, looks absolutely fantastic. Did anyone bring a telescope?

    Check your wavian Jerry cans

All of mine are full but I'll try and remember to check next time I use them. Maybe best to email them or the vendor you got them from?

To KDSS or not to KDSS...(4runner

This is on point with my experiences, and I know what you mean about forums in general. For background I owned a 2013 trail edition with kdss lifted 2" on fox 2.5 coilovers, Radflo rear coils, and Fox performance series rear shocks. I currently drive a 2016 limited with radflo 2.5 coilovers and...

    2017 Tacoma Overland Build

I've used that midland in several vehicles over the years and can vouch for it. With the power limitations of cb a properly tuned antenna is probably going to have a bigger effect on performance than anything else. I wanna say there's a hole in the floor behind the drive seat where you can...

    Lets See Your Dirtiest Pic!

Nice looking Jeep, I'm helping my brother build his WK2 up right now too. I've also broken a CV joint in a Durango on the north rim on the Grand Canyon, although those photos would be hidden in a box somewhere on film. Good times!

    Coffee Set Ups

I'd never heard of bodum before. Just ran a search and see that they make a double-walled bpa free poly carafe, that makes a lot of sense to me! Edit: Cancel that, the filter part is bpa free plastic, the carafe is still glass.

    Electrics on Velcro

I'm currently using a heavy duty type of Velcro to secure a Blue Sea ACR, fuse block, and battery switch in the engine compartment. I'm mocking up a more permanent solution using either stainless steel of polyboard but wanted to make sure the system was meeting my needs first. I've taken several...

    Which RTT to buy???

I've had their Kukenam Sky tent for 3 years and can attest to the wind resistance, we got caught in a windstorm in Utah once and had zero problems. My brother couldn't sleep cause he thought the tent was going to blow off the roof but the tent itself held up fine. Tepui is local to me so I...

    Coffee Set Ups

I just read through all of this, lots of great insight. I'm in the Starbucks Via or pourover group. If it's a hard morning I'll start with via because it's just so fast, I'll be halfway through with a cup before some of my friends are done grinding their beans. With more time I'll do a...

Cast Iron or No? (weight right now is not an issue for me)

Carbon steel skillets I second Cowboy Kent Rollins, great resource. I've also found that carbon steel skillets can function as a good tradeoff between weight and cooking characteristics. They're seasoned like cast iron but much lower in weight. Cast iron holds a lot more heat but you can...

    Portable Fire Pits?

We picked up a portable propane fire pit last year for a spring trip to Canyonlands, no campfire's or ash-residue allowed there. I don't think we could have packed the water required to drown the ashes either since we were overloaded as it was. I don't have exact figures but we went through two...

    What is your rigs name

I've got Wampa and Wampa Jr. right now. The senior is a 97 Land Cruiser, fantastic vehicle but was an absolute beast to work on so Wampa from Star Wars seemed appropriate.. broke a socket, two wrenches, pitman arm puller, and a nut breaker. I've since gotten a newer truck and carried the plates...

    Hello from San Jose, CA

Hello, my name's Jason aka Sparky writing to you all from the South Bay. My friend first told me about this community over a year ago when he was planning a Prudhoe Bay trip, he's a member here but isn't on the forum much. This site looks like a really valuable way to collaborate and share ideas...
