I brought it home ... lol ...
so now the project can finally start... albeit slowly....
gotta rebuild the whole front end, figure out/gather the new suspension bits, fix or replace the drivers seat... and generally go over it from nose to tail ..... only THEN do I get to start all the fun...
I'm sure a few have already touched this ... but I believe the main source of 'arguement' in this area is if it actually is a brushguard... or it just LOOKS like a brushguard.
as much as the construction of the brushguard matters... if it's hanging off some dinky brackets, and not mounted where...
i'm wandering my way through the foamie build stuff ...
the conqueror commander trailer is my inspiration... however its WAY overbuilt for anything i'll need it for, and equipped with way more goodies ... but that general config and fold out style is what i'm after.
the 1000-1200 lb barely...
An off the shelf airbag system for you vehicle would generally only be made to stabilize within your vehicles tow capacity .. which on yours I believe would be 150ish lbs of tongue weight ... in their normal operating psi range (ie not going full psi/firmness) would probably only be around...

my preference would be airbags ... with one definite modification to installation. don't link the airbags, ie separate fills. if the air bags are installed with a linked fill they will do the exact opposite of sway control, when one airbag compresses it will push its air into the other sides...
clearance.. (the prerunner I seem to remember is no slouch .. and in some cases better clearance then it's 4wd brothers with no pesky diff or Tcase hanging down) ... appropriate tires ... selectable locker ... you can pretty much go all the same places most mild 4x4s would bother without risking...
my running truck .... and a couple of project bodies i'm working on... the running trucks body is going on a different chassis as a trophy truck ... and then the running truck will get IFS and the tundra body... and I'm putting a 6x6 chassis together for the Deuce body ;)
