We're in the extended season here in NH. Getting much colder in the mornings! I'm seriously debating one of those 'Little Buddy' heaters to take the chill off in the morning. 3800 BTU seems about right to get the temp up fairly quickly in my 330 cubic foot cabin space. Or it seems like it...
I started this series on my YouTube channel last week as we ran into the North Country of NH in hopes of catching Pittsburg in full color. Honestly, we were 1 week late.. What we did get was a fantastic show Pittsburg south into Colebrook, Dixville Notch and further to Grafton Notch! Evans Notch...
I'm trying to get multi-day runs together that doesn't include any tar. Not so easy to do! The best I can do so far is 80-85% dirt, as in road, woods road and class 6. Lastest attempt is my New Boston NH to Washington NH.
Short of heading into Maine, that may just be as good as it gets...
I'm was looking for a good place to post my new exploring videos and decided on YouTube for now. If you know of a better spot please mention it.
Have a peek if you so wish. I'm still uploading from the last run (first filming), so more content or the next few days.
Byways no Highways
Okay folks.. any have hinged lifts that are strut assisted, but I have a full lift (no hinge). Don't see any calculators online for my situation. I'm sure a few of you have gone through this before, so I ask. How the heck did you figure out which one and correct install?
Guessing here, but if I...
You probably guessed, I'm going to build to match my F150. I can get 6/5.5 (believe that's 6x139), but can't find 6x135.. Any suggestions of where to look? May end up using one of those 6/5.5 to 6/135 adapters... Anyone done this?
I guess I'll be answering this fairly soon, but it's kinda driving me nuts..
I purchased a 12v frig/freezer (chest style) and awaiting delivery. Claim is 60watt run consumption (hoping on high..). I have no idea what the true duty cycle might be.. I've heard any where from 30/70, 50/50 tp 70/30...
I've done what was asked of us and I'm done awaiting someone to tell me it's okay.. So I'll tell me!
Been doing a lot of work on building up the camper on my truck and with some foul weather coming in next week, I'm going to take a break and explore a bit with Wifey's Taco! Haven't decided...
Pair of Duracell 6V deep cycle batteries used 2 seasons in my camper. Only drained to 70% capacity while in use. Spec's can be seen here: Duracell Ultra Industrial 6V Deep Cycle Battery - SLI6V210S at Batteries Plus Bulbs
$200
Also have a battery box for these. $50
I'm in Southern NH and it's...
This will be the second time crossing as I head westward to South Dakota to see family. Last time we ran along Lake Superior and enjoyed the run! This time I hope to run through Hiawatha NF and Chequamegon-Nicolet NF. Hiawatha NF seems to be split E/W by the Superior State Forest...
Anyone...
This time to spend a little time there! Very interesting area and drove through too quickly. I'm working a route through Hiawatha NF (east/west) and wonder if there's MVUM for Superior State Forest? I guess first I should ask if you can overland through and connect both sides of Hiawatha?
This has been my work truck/play truck for years. Just ran through body and frame rust, then mechanicals and all still looking good! Next step was investing a bit in suspension and added the Bilstien 5100's and new coils up front. I will add a AAL to the rear once the camper back is built. Oh...
I've run a search and not finding a how-to. Hopefully someone can hook me up. I've downloaded map data as GPX and comes out .gpx.xml and upload states bad extension... CanI direct upload or do I need to go through Drop-Box...
This will be byways (paved), dirt and occasional 2 track, or so is the plan. The entire run could very well be 400-500 miles of roadway/trail. I'm still working on the Route planning and hoping to gain some assistance on parts of the route and suggested changes.
I'll be running my F150 4x4 up...
I'm going to build my next trailer. I know my wants and have started to design. Currently I'm using Sketch-up on my Mac for this purpose.
What programs do you folks use?
I require to be able to stand up it in, yet haul low-profile. Yep, must have a pop-top!
When I saw Wesley Harville's Foxtail...
