Replaced the door and hatch speakers with Rockford Fosgates today. I got cocky and didn't check which was which and did the front first. Then I realized I put the backs in the front and had to go back and take the fronts out. One screw on the driver's door stripped and I eventually had to drill...
You can reach out to me on here or if you have FB join the new jersey overland FB group. Plenty of people on there willing to take you out, including myself. Remember, overlanding doesn't have to be off road. Most of us like to plan trails or destinations that will require 4x4 but there's a TON...
Transformed it from this.
To this.
Paint refresh, tires, lights, roof rack, removed side steps and mud flaps. This was all today, so I'm done for the day.
I went with the Xbull ones. They seemed to be fairly solid for the price. The ones in the OP didn't look aggressive enough to me to actually work. They look nice though.
Solid state. I don't like messing w/ relays. They seem to be more reliable the way I got it. I've had relays randomly go out on me over the years. I never had an issue w/ the switch pro.
I went cheap this time and ordered the auxbeam switch. I had the switchpro in my tacoma. I liked it, but if you don't mark the wires you're screwed (I didn't mark them).
Def both. I can't find the video but I had one on the beach showing how the baja design amber fogs were the only lights I had that I could see with. But you still need white for distance.
Finished bringing the paint back to life today. Got the tires and roof rack on. Now trying to get my light setup the way I want it before moving onto the next thing.
The 400 didn't. I couldnt fit the 400 where I was able to fit the btech. I did check the dimensions and you're right so that doesn't make any sense to me.
The midland units are too big. Once you hit 40 W it takes up a lot of real estate and they did away w/ the NOAA weather radio which makes no sense. The BTECH 50X1 is a way better unit in almost every way possible. Check those out before buying another Midland.
Yeah, so I would just run them here..Nobody will pay that close of attention. I'm fairy OCD and it didn't bother me. One of the best parts about having a pickup.
That's the best way to do it. Tuck them into the roof rails the best you can on the inside and drop it down the center of the shell. Run it from there alone the inside of the frame and up through the engine bay or wherever your going to tap in for power. In my experience it's about getting...
For anyone interested, here's the build thread from my tacoma which I had just sold.
