Broke my roofrack on a hidden branch that was in a tall tree. Nearly ripped the roofrack off, it was one solid branch!
Ordered a new rack, a flat one from Rival.
I have an air rifle. Basically a BB gun on steroids.
Semi, 0.30 cal, 900+ force, supressor, no recoil, folding stock, 45 grain slugs that will easily take down deer and boar.
Wanting to get a CF scuba tank, to refill rifle, and possibly fill tires and air impact/tools.
I had 2 open heart surgeries within a year (recent), and my mobility was lessened, and because my sternum was cracked open twice, it will never be the same again. Im not allowed to lift more than 25 lbs for 6 months, and I've talked to other transplant recipients and they said it takes forever...
On an overland trip, my dogs will always be with me. I carry a pocket knife on me daily.
Also have a spear around my camp, but not sure if it's non-lethal. It's extremely sharp and could easily hit an artery.
Made a rookie mistake and didn't camp with proper gear.
Summer tent and summer bag, in Utah at -14°f. Barely slept and fingers weren't moving.
Now I have a much better bag, slightly better tent, insulated underwear, warm gloves, wool socks, and a heated blanket. It draws about 50 - 75 watts...
Ceramic probably won't help against pin striping.
I've thought about wrapping, but seen ones that have been on trails and it tears it.
The best thing I've seen for protection against Bush and branches is those magnetic armor you slap on the panels.
Downside is they don't make them for all...
Yes, but also melee weapons. I just like to haha.
Been a sushi chef for 23 years and love sharpening blades. That spear could shave your face, or remove it completely. Took a while to sharpen. Profiled with 1000 grit, and polished at 4000 to 8000 grit. It's mirror polished haha.
Luckily I never injured myself on a trip. But prepared for it, as much as I can anyways. Not sure how I would deal with a major event like bones sticking out of skin or tourniquets.
Recently had surgery and that took me out of overlanding for months. I'm wheeling now, but haven't camped in...
My 2 dogs come with me on every trip.
They're wearing a harness that's attached to rollcage, so they don't go anywhere in the event of an accident.
Once at the destination, they're on 20' cables. Sadly they're not allowed to roam, as they have high hunting drive and will be gone for half the day.
I have an alpicool 35qt. It's an awesome fridge.
I have running on my ecoflow delta 2, which is 1024 wh, with a 220 watt solar panel.
Your 300 watt battery will need to be charged often, and 100 watt of panel will be slow.
I also bring a 500 watt jackery as backup.
I plug my fridge into the...
Eventually I'll get a mount and put a 5lb tank on my rack. At Walmart, they sell two 1lb propane for 8 bucks, so I got a bunch and keep em in my basement. I use about half a bottle to full 1lb bottle for 2 nights of camping.
I bring at least 3 bottles, in a Plano case on my roofrack with my...
