Unfortunately I haven't the faintest idea the best place to look for a Defender. My only recommendation for that would be craigslist I suppose. Defenders are popular too. And there seems to be a pretty strong defender community out there. I've no doubt if you check out the forums you'll be able...

Some popular ones would be a Jeep Wrangler or a Cherokee, Toyota FJ, Toyota Tacoma, or a 4Runner. I drive a Jeep Cherokee. It's the only overland/off-road vehicle I've ever had, but I know that Toyotas are really reliable. I would say to think about a vehicle you've always wanted and think about...

It all depends on what you want. But generally you should be able to find something affordable.

Technically any vehicle can be an overland vehicle. As long as its vehicle dependent travel and you're enjoying what nature has to offer. You could overland a Honda Ruckus if you wanted to. I'm sure you'll love whatever overland rig you decide to get. You've definitely found the right community...

Ya, I would imagine that traveling like that for work might not have the same value as it would with free time. None the less, something that would be a great experience.

That's pretty cool that you've gotten to travel around the country. That's something I've always wanted to do. Or at least a cross country road trip. Welcome to the community!

I don't really know any camping areas in NorCal but when I'm looking for a place to go camping I'll usually check out the national parks to see what's open. They usually have spots that are a bit secluded and private.

Since I was a little kid my family always took camping as a chance to bond with each other outside in nature. So I try and do the same when I camp. I usually bring the basics for sleeping; tent, sleeping bag, etc. I'll bring cooking stuff such as a Coleman grill or some metal grating so I can...

    Rig Photos

Don't think I ever posted a pic in here. Well here it is now. My 1996 Jeep XJ 'Honey Badger'. Not even close to finished but right now it's got a 3 1/3" Rubicon Express lift, 31" Goodyear Duratrac tires, EBC stage 3 off-road brakes, and a K&N high flow intake. I think the next thing will be a...
