a lot is involved in removing a tree from a trail or road, I've seen newbees fail to read a tree and then get pinched on their first cut and it would take a second saw to cut them out.
Who did you get your rack from, I've got a 2015 Frontier crew cab 4x4 in white. Between now and October I'm having a 2 0r 3"lift kit and ARB front and rear bumpers installed.
I prefer a 3-1/2lb. fallers ax with a 36" handle but that's just me, Any tool in your kit needs to be reliable. I worked as a wildland fire fighter a few years back, these are a few of the suppliers we got our tool from.

since 2003 I've worked as a wildland fire fighter, construction, armed security, and fire dispatch, in jan. I go to work for the US Forest service as a seasonal fire dispatcher till Sept., after that I become a professional camper.
