Might be a good roof rack system for my little trailer. How rigid is the whole thing? I was planning on welding a rack because the lid of my trailer isn't too rigid and a welded rack would make it so. This seems like it would be plenty rigid. -M

Agree. If I don't need my rocket box I don't take it. And I'm going to fix up my trailer this spring so I can use that instead. Get better mileage with that. Overlanding seems mostly a game of strapping stuff to the outside of the truck. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me. The rocket boxes...

For overlanding I use a Yakima Sky Box 16 on Yakima towers and bars. For ski season I have a smaller longer Thule box that fits skis better. -M

The area is getting snow right now. On the route from Lockwood is some steep switchbacks and shelf road that could be washed out, so let's cancel the January date and look at February. -M

I don't think I'll be able to scout it at all with the weather coming in this week. I think it would be best to postpone into February at least. -M
