Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

I have also seen this.... Cross comparing Explore and Tread during my Alladale Scotland trip: Looks like "Road" portion in Explore is only for the web based version

Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

Normally i use the satellite or road layers in Explore Especially when cross-comparing Google Maps content, if there's a POI in Google and not on the Garmin

Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

Tread gives you Driving, Satellite and Basemap I guess it's gone be more comprehensive, though Explore does have everything as far as I can tell

Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

Which layer do you have active? I think Explore gives you Topo, Topo+, Road, and Satellite views; which is more centric to multi activities then the Tread which is specifically for driving/riding

Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

Oh wow! Good luck with the Tread :-) :-) :-) Post back here on how you get on with it.... I'm sure it will be quite useful to many people ;-) My 67i I think has two options: Walking and Other?? I will need to check but it certainly doesn't have driving. For that I need to change the setting in...

There's no text in the response? It looks like a possible system glitch lol...

    Overland "Types?"

I agree... The "original" post mainly reads like a psychological academic study Of course the OP is curious so it is interesting in a sense... It sounds like a way of "need of quantification", which having ASD (autism spectrum) my self is something that I would think about in many different...

Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

I remember I also had some issue with my recordings done with the 67i. Basically my whole Scotland trip..... There was a way I sorted this by converting the route.... I think it was by clicking "save a copy" or was it via "share"? - or did I go into the "Connect" app then save the route to "My...

    Hello from the UK

Thank you so much!!! :-D One thing I can say for sure is that it's so painful right now as I was watching Expedition Overland all weekend and particularly Season 3 - South America. I just wish that I was in a position right now to even take a simple drive. This is an image of the M31 or...

    Hello from the UK

Thank you so much! Yesterday and today I have been reading a lot about the Pamir mountain region in central Asia and trying to figure out the best route to take from north-east Turkey. I have read reports that the best way is probably using a ferry over the Caspian sea and probably best...

Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

Hi there, thanks for the response! I almost thought this thread would go unanswered as it's a bit niche.... Check the ROA (RV's of America) videos on Youtube for the Pause trailers: They run the Garmin OEM system: https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/p/1154610...

    Gen6 4Runner Tailhunter Overlanding video

Just checked the Gen6 4Runner manual and I can see a few things.... 1. the manual claims 3 driver memory seat setting but only 2 position buttons available (typo?) 2. no HUD or is it called something else? - does the thing come with an OBDII port so you can use an external one? 3. Windshield...

Garmin ecosystem thoughts.... or stamdalone devices?

Hi all, I've been using a Garmin 67i (inReach) device for a while though I've never activated the inReach part as I have cell connection everywhere.... the idea behind it was to use it off-grid for planned places and since recently I started taking an interest in overlanding it just really...

    Gen6 4Runner Tailhunter Overlanding video

That's a really neat video! Great attention to little details like the HUD not being bright enough among many other points. Not being able to use the front fogs and lightbar at the same time seems a little weird! Is that because it's software based or is there some kind of electronic logic...

    Gen6 4Runner Tailhunter Overlanding video

Hi all, not sure if someone has already popped this up but here's a video on the new 2025 Toyota 4Runner Trailhunter in its natural element: I have seen on the 4runner6g website that there is a new lift kit for a more basic spec model (TRD Offroad was it?) which features 35" tires. This...

    Hello from the UK

Of course I was teasing :-) I think anything with a trunk - apart from if it's only designed to carry golf bags, should be able to take at least 2x carry-on trolley style luggage cases. That should suffice for most people unless doing something niche

    Overlanding with ASD and POTS

No problem! Don't be deterred by any diagnoses. All it does is just help you understand things a bit better or point you in the right direction.... Do you have a plan of where you would like to go? Again this is very individual dependent but ask yourself questions about your needs.... do you...

    Adventure Therapy

That's really interesting! Over here, there is no where to go like that which makes it difficult for say day trips. Making an organization like that happen here is really difficult as you need backing and there's a tonne of bureaucracy and red tape involved and usually peoples attitudes are...

    Adventure Therapy

A while ago I was watching a video by Lifestyle Overland on Youtube (was it the Utah or Tennessee one?) which featured a Granaider? if I recall correctly that was modified and outfitted with a Hemi and plenty more things to cope with the owners son's condition/disability. It also became apparent...
