What is the difference between a tow strap, snatch strap, and kinetic , and when would you use each?

@Neil Q Smith Didn't realize you are in Norway. I'm not sure what grades/standards you have, but these are the specs in the USA. 3/8" Grade 70 Transit Chain WLL (Working Load Limit) 6,600 lbs. MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength) x4 WLL 26,600 lbs.

    Oregon back country discovery route

I've gone up Rt. 3 to Rt. 2, did some of Rt. 5 Sec 2, then down Rt. 5 Sec 1. It was Spring and many trees were down. Some we cut to continue forward, other times we just turned around. Try to find the trail conditions before heading out. It's a really fun trip!

What is the difference between a tow strap, snatch strap, and kinetic , and when would you use each?

Tow straps have 0-3% stretch Recovery straps have 10-15% stretch KERR (Kinetic Energy Recovery Rope) has 25-30% stretch Leave the tow straps at home. You can use the other two types in terrain like sand, mud, snow. They're not good for use if you're stuck by a rock or log. As stated before...

OB Approved CO2 vs. Air Compressors

Just strap the whole fridge in the rear. I'm sure you can find someone willing to carry the rest of your gear :P

On Board Air from CO2 Tanks

I've had a CO2 setup for about 4 years now and have never had an issue with the regulator freezing. It will get a layer of frost on the outside of the regulator, but the internals remain unfrozen. There are no gauges because the tank will read full pressure until it's empty. You can have one to...

    GoPro help

There are a lot of mounts for the GoPro. You need a case for the body of the camera and then pick the mount you want to attach to the RAM. You can use a suction cup mount and that will probably use the 14"-20 thread which is standard size.

    Internal fridge drawers

I too will put anything that can't be resealed into Ziplock bags before leaving. The freezer bags are thicker and hold up to more abuse. Sometimes things need to be double bagged. Anything granular, try to not pour out of a Ziplock bag. The stuff (sugar, ground coffee, dog food, etc.) gets into...

The most "technical" parts are ruts from the rain. Sometimes they go straight down the middle of the road, other times they cross at different angles. It's nothing hairy, just go slow and pick your line. Air down and bring something (CO2 or compressor) to fill your tires at the end. Keep your...

Nice @DuncNasty08! I just finished packing as well. Got the roof rack loaded last night, and interior tonight. I forgot Quake's dog bed at work, so I need to stop there on my way to meet you. It's 3 exits before the Safeway and will only take a couple minutes. HAM will be on and monitored for you.

Hey @stage7 . The easiest way is to click the Watch Forum button at the top level of a forum section. You could go here https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/forums/overland-bound-meetups.24/ and click the Watch Forum to the left of your profile (on the right side of the screen). You should get...
